Wow, I have not seen one of those. I occasionally coordinate weddings. I'll have to put that in my "so you want to do something different" file.

Maybe it's already a trend—but I could get it started in my neck of the woods.

They are a great idea especially for older couples who do not want a large cake and are unlikely to have any children so the tradition of keeping the lower tier for the christening is no longer applicable.

Also less people seem to like rich cake theses days.
