Most of Bush's policies are too liberal for me.

And "the world" thinks Bush is too conservative. If you say your thoughts honestly in front of a group of Heidelberg University students, or in downtown Helsinki you will be laughed off at best, or threatened at worst.

Threats from German students? There's a laugh. I probably carry 50 pounds more muscle than any of those twerps. Just thinking back to studying abroad during this whole war fiasco--amazing how quickly the tone would change for me v. some of my fellow American students.

I'd imagine that's how it must be for President Bush when he shows up at a meeting with these European leaders. They're probably a lot more comfortable in numbers than they are one on one.

You're right, though. There's a big digression of opinions at times.

"the world"

Excellent points. But for the ideologically pure on this forum and elsewhere, if a pol isn't one hundred percent conservative, then he's a lib. It's nutty reasoning, but some people are never satisfied. Bush must be perfect to please them. He's not, but overall he's been very good. They can't see that.
