It went "bad" because it wasn't loaded with preservative!

I thought the price sounded low. They bought it from InBev USA, so it had no debt. I don't know their sales volume, so have no idea what "fair value" would be.

I lived in Germany for four years, and the beer in Germany makes Bud seem like dirty water. I don't blame the Germans, I prefer Spaten, Hacker-Pshorr, Lowenbrau (the real stuff), etc. to Bud and Miller.

I switched to Yuengling a long time ago, but evry now and agian I do get some "Ponies". I hope they just don't change it. Good (real cold)or bad (not very cold) it brings back fond (yet blurry) memories of my college days.

Does anyone think it will have an aftertaste after the change in ownership?

I don't know what you're all moaning about; it's not like they're messing with the One True Brew:

It's all Busch's fault!

For the first time in well over a million posts that joke is actually funny again.

But you knew and I had to look it up. ;-(

My parents bought a case of RR every Memorial Day to get our yard in shape along with a case of O-So pop. We worked like dogs.

It makes me shed a tear. I'll have to get some and toast my dearly departed parents, quick!

I don't know who Busch plans on selling the beer to, but it won't be the beer drinkers of western Pennsylvania. This is my brand and I'll never drink it again.

To sell off the "brand name" and leave the brewery and workers high and dry is bad enough.

To label something made in New Jersey "Rolling Rock" is an insult. Rolling Rock is made in Latrobe. Whatever they start selling after July 31st will be a cruel joke.

Do they still make "Iron City" there?

Doesn't $82M appear kinda' low for an established brand? Is RR carrying a lot of debt? Any of you guys do rough valuations?

They're buying the brand name, not the brewery. The brewery has until July 31 to find someone to buy them out to produce something or they're all out on their butts.

They don't make Iron City in Latrobe. Yes, the Pittsburgh Brewing Company is still in operation as an independent, though they are in constant financial trouble. They nearly had their water supply turned off in the pst year for a million dollar unpaid back bill.

They should be able to make much hay from displaced Rolling Rock drinkers who still want to support a local brewer and who don't want to give any money to AB and their ersatz "Rolling Rock."

By "there" I meant Western Pennsylvania. Thanks...
