Mexico has pushed for sweeping immigration reforms to help millions of Mexicans work legally in the United States but it fears Washington is more interested in keeping them out. Gee .. what gave them the hint?

re :If indeed the flow is halted, it should act as as a stimulus for Mexico to get their house in order.
One hopes, it can go either way.
I am not an expert on Mexico or the present administration but it has a history of civil war, military coup, political and economic corruption and political assassinations.
I am not sure what the current US game plan is.
But in each scenario of a Mexican Civil War, the US army is sent into intervene.
Of course this was during the Cold War, I have no idea what the game plan is now.

Is Mexico even thinking about providing jobs for her citizens? Uh, no.

The US reply should be firm: we asked Mexico to control the problem from its side of the border and they defied us. So now we'll do it. They have only themselves to blame....of course the US will not speak truth to Mexico as we have no voice anymore.

if enough people break a law, then that law is nullified You've just stated a thought I've been trying unsuccessfully to articulate for weeks. I say we all own machine guns, and carry weapons openly. The liberals would have a COW. "But hey, guys. Everybody's doing it. So it's legal, right?"

Yes, they are really in mental pain over here. Buying houses. Buying huge trucks. Playing their Mexican music so the whole neighborhood can hear. Flying the Mexican flag. Having most of America cater to their language and culture. I don't know how people live under such conditions of oppression and stress. Don't tell Amnesty International.Thank you, President Bush.

Lets just annex Mexico as the 51st state. Could go along way to solving our energy dependance problem.

How can this be? President Bush recently said that Mexico is our friend and neighbor. And good fences make good neighbors.

We keep their trash. They keep the cash. It's no wonder Mexico's government doesn't want anytbing to interfere with the current situation.
To: tonycavanagh
Maybe those in command are afraid of what a destablised Mexico may mean to the United States. As opposed to a destabilized US? Which is exactly what they're going to get if they allow this invasion to continue unabated, and ignore the vast majority of actual citizens.
I know DC can be stupid, but there's something afoot, there's got to be for them to ignore the demands of over 200 million Americans in favor of a foreign 3rd world nation with just over 100 million.

The matter of illegals is fundamental to the system of justice: what the pro-illegal lobby refuses to understand is that they are creating a precedent - they are basically suggesting that if enough people break a law, then that law is nullified. That undermines the rule of law itself.
U.S. conservatives should apply this principle to scary-looking rifles. If it works for colonizers, it should work for gun collectors, too.
