Your nose is growing longer.
Here in Harris County, we conservatives are now convinced that Dems (or anyone else) must be put into power
This redaction and revision might get the length back to normal:
Here in Harris County, we conservatives are [I] now convinced that Dems (or anyone else) must be put into power
The royal "we" is a dead giveaway. Just trying to be helpful. Nobody with any credibility on this site uses the term "we" as a synonym for "I." Nodody. And some on this site have credibility, as to the honesty of their posts, and some don't, even when there is disagreement. And most with any tenure on this site know who is in which category.

The "we" that I'm referring to is the Harris County Republican Party (mentioned earlier), and that is a big "we", as you Perry guys will see in the fall and beyond.
What a lot of "us" would like to see is someone simply tell us, in specific terms, why "education" spending has needed to increase at twice the rate of inflation and population growth over the past 20 years. All that you will tell us is that it is "for the children" and "stop complaining and write your check", as the Taj Mahal's that some call "schools" continue to be built.
There is a limit. You guys may feel superior to us since your boss is the elected governor, but there are a lot of us, and you might as well start updating your resumes.
This state will look a lot different politically soon, and you guys only have to look in the mirror to see why.
You had it all - but I guess it was too much.
