I was a witness to it. The conversion was stunning given that PD had been fighting for some time with those opposed to illegal immigration. He'd even admitted to hiring illegal aliens and stated that he'd do it again. But he saw the ugliness of the marxist-organized marches of illegal aliens in our streets, he heard the words of the march organizers and the leaders of their movement, and he had an epiphany.
Once again I applaud him for his change of heart. I have been dealing with the immigration issue for many years, with being married to a Russian lady, and so I understand the issue more than most. We applied to bring my stepdaughter here in 2002, and she is in the First Family Priority as the daughter of a citizen. It will take 8 to 10 years for her to arrive here. In the interim she is not even allowed to visit, and that due to American laws, not Russian. If we were the only ones affected I would remain silent, but the horrible truth is for those wanting to immigrate here legally it will take 8 to 25 years. If illegal aliens are given a path to citizenship the system will be so backlogged family relatives of anyone except Mexicans will never be able to come here.

Another good testimonial against the proposed path to citizenship for the illegal aliens already here.
The law clearly prescribes deportation for those who are here illegally. The President's plan is to punish them by simply making them stand in line with everyone else. Oh, they may go to the "back of the line", but that isn't a punishment. Everyone goes to the back of the line when they put in their papers to legally immigrate here. You make an excellent point.

Good luck with getting your stepdaughter here, what a long wait! I know a guy who came here the legal way; he had to wait four years in Jordan before getting approval to enter the US. He is now this close to getting his US citizenship. He thinks amnesty for illegal border crossers is a crime.

Hi Gary
I suggest you keep on writing the White House about your case. We never hear of cases like this, so those involved must bring forth this treatment.
Good luck.
