Great speech by the President.

As i understand President Bush was playing the middle ground, as deporting millions of illegals is not going to be feasible.


Securing the borders along with a tough amnesty plan is a decent outcome, President Bush should be applaued for that.

Well, the southern border is covered for one year. But what about the northern??

We've been at war for nearly five years!! I'm wondering if a lot of this isn't hooey. So much for security! If we were so vunerable to attack, why has the welcome wagon been open for all this time??

When all is said and done, I judge this President by deeds and not words. Let's see how implementation goes. I'll can be a little more patient.

The president's immigration plan is too little and way too late.

The only program that will save the nation from being overwhelmed by the Third World is to:

1. Secure the border with troops, walls, fences, patrols and modern technology
2. Deport. Of course no one expect that we can deport 12 million illegal aliens (A more accurate estimate of the number of illegal aliens in the U. S. is around 34 million), all at once. But we can begin to r round them up in bunches and dozens. It might take ten years but it must be done.
3. Declare a 50-75 year moratorium on immigration except for those seeking political asylum.
4. Withhold all welfare-state goodies from illegal aliens including schooling, health care, food stamps and anything that must be paid for by tax money except to for 1 2 3 & 5.
5. Impose heavy fines on employers who use illegal aliens. It's not true that illegal aliens take jobs Americans won't take. If there were no illegal aliens around to take the low wages offered by some employers, the employers would be forced to raise wages to whatever level it takes to attract workers, like every other business much do.
