BUSH SET FOR IMMIGRATION SPEECH WHITE HOUSE President Bush is getting set for a prime-time speech on immigration tomorrow night. Aides note the 8 p-m, Eastern Time, speech will be the president's first from the Oval Office that does not involve Iraq and the war on terrorism. And they say that reflects Bush's "passion" on immigration. He's speaking as the Senate is poised to clear a compromise measure including his idea for a guest worker program. However, a rival House bill is limited to a border crackdown, and meshing the two won't be easy. Stand Up For America !

WASHINGTON (AP) President Bush signed a $70 billion tax-cut package and said, "The American economy is powerful, productive and prosperous and we're going to keep it that way."


Well, there you have it. Considering that the economy IS going well and considering it is about the only good thing, according to the MSM that the Administration has to hang their hats on (I disagree of course), I imagine Bush and a whole lot of other GOP Senators wouldn't want to ruin the economy by allowing those Big named EMPLOYERS to have R.I.C.O. laws enforced against them for hiring illegals. Can you imagine what would happen to the economy if, for instance, if the CEOs of Tyson and Purdue Foods were convicted of racketeering and thrown in jail for hiring of illegals!! Shoot, they even shut down alot of their plants on May 1, told the whole country they hired illegals, and nothing. Nothing happened to them.

As soon as that 'guest worker program' is passed and they all become legal, the employers will be scott free from prosecution.

But it looks like that's what we've traded our Border Security for.
