Bush set for immigration speech

BUSH SET FOR IMMIGRATION SPEECH

WHITE HOUSE President Bush is getting set for a prime-time speech on
immigration tomorrow night.

Aides note the 8 p-m, Eastern Time, speech will be the president's first from the Oval Office that does not involve Iraq and the war on terrorism. And they say that reflects Bush's
"passion" on immigration.

He's speaking as the Senate is poised to clear a compromise measure including his idea for a guest worker program. However, a rival House bill is limited to a border crackdown, and meshing the two won't be easy.

Stand Up For America !

"We have room for but one flag, the American flag...
We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...
And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

While the Senate was debating immigration and moving to give the president most of what he wants, the attitude of House Republicans has stiffened. If anything, more of them seem more determined than they were a month ago to shut the border -- and do nothing else. They believe the public is with them.

BTTT!

Most importantly they've written their law to deport any foreigner "immediately" whereas we allow illegals to continue inland to their destination if they make it a certain number of miles into the interior of our country (absurd policy). We have absolutely no cajones when it comes to enforcing our own laws. Whatever happened to make us shills for Vincente? Waiting for his next directive - perhaps then we'll be developing our next strategy (aka/amnesty) for the illegals (rolling eyes).

I respect your sentiment but if you check the link above, it seems the WH has a "grander" strategery in its mind.

They are basically going after the illegal vote via spewing a soft serve reconquista revisionist history.

This is not about a "guest worker" program any more. This is 100% about cramming a Laaaeeeteeeeeno vote down the throats of the american taxpayer due to some bizare derivative of elitist white guilt PC BS.

The amnesty provsion IS the key the WH wants, the amnesty provision is the key the Senate wants. The elitists thought they could MSM propaganda slip that by.

(aka thats not a politician pissing on your leg, that is really rain because it is wet like water. The smell? Its just organic rain)

Chicago Declared an Immigrant Sanctuary

La Raza

CHICAGO – A Chicago ordinance that would make the city one of the few in the U.S. to openly and officially oppose federal provisions to criminalize undocumented immigrants has been ratified and will go into effect immediately, reports the Spanish language daily, La Raza. The ordinance was passed unanimously by the City Council March 29.

Absolutely! At least according to this...

Here is what Tancredo had to say about the Pence plan:

However, Rep. Tom Tancredo (R.-Colo.) had nothing nice to say. As chairman of the House Immigration Reform Caucus, Tancredo carries much respect with conservative activists. Here’s his full statement:

“Mike Pence is making the same mistakes that the President has, using the straw man of mass deportations and redefining amnesty to suit his interests. Unfortunately, like the President, Pence is breaking from House conservatives who remain steadfast in their support of a security-first approach to immigration,” said Tancredo.

Pence’s plan would require illegal aliens to return to their home countries to apply for a new ‘W’ worker visa. Employers could hire as many foreign workers as they want under the W visa, and, in practice, they would likely hire the same workers who they employed illegally before. Pence wants to start the new foreign worker program before border security is even proved effective, which is the same strategy that was used in the 1986 amnesty. Twenty years later, the U.S. got amnesty as promised but no border security.

“Pence’s W visa is aptly named. It gives the Administration exactly what it wants: unlimited foreign workers first, enforcement later or never,” said Tancredo. “Pence’s plan is just the 1986 amnesty with a trip home tacked on.”

The Pence plan includes no prevailing wage standard for foreign workers—it simply relies on the good will of employers to “try to hire American workers” before offering jobs under the new foreign worker visa. In fact, almost all current visas require employers to offer the job to American workers before seeking foreign labor, but with no enforcement mechanism, the requirement is laughable.

“The House’s strategy in H.R. 4437 was to fix the illegal alien problem by enforcing the law. Over time, as illegal workers cannot obtain jobs, they go home because they have no other option open to them. Pence takes a much different approach: fix illegal behavior by legalizing it,” said Tancredo. “As a conservative and a friend of Mike Pence, I am baffled by his shift on immigration. I hope he reconsiders his position and returns to an enforcement-first position.”

*** If he is Conservative and looking out for American first. I am the exact opposite of him!****

He may be looking out for the "America" as designated in the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (America / Mexico / Canada).

FR Article - Abolishing the USA

Snip: The so-called Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP)* was launched by the newly elected Presidents George Bush and Vicente Fox in 2001 as the “Partnership for Prosperity.” (There’s no mention of Security in the original project.) President Fox was pushing for more U.S. financial aid, amnesty, and legalization for Mexicans already in the U.S. illegally, and easier access for more Mexican “guest workers” into the United States. Fox said he wanted “as many rights as possible, for as many Mexican immigrants as possible, as soon as possible.” In a June 21, 2001 interview, he declared, “Those Mexicans that are working in the United States should be considered legally working in the United States.” Mexico’s foreign minister, Jorge Castañeda, echoing Fox’s demands for legalization and more guest workers, told reporters, “It’s the whole enchilada or nothing.”

President Bush caused a significant national uproar (even a revolt among many of the GOP Bush faithful) by his willingness to buy almost the “whole enchilada.” In comments at a White House lawn press conference on September 6, 2001, marking the end of President Fox’s visit to the U.S., President Bush announced his commitment to a more expansive immigration policy that would “match a willing [U.S.] employer with a willing [Mexican] employee.” Which, of course, is a prescription for virtually unlimited migration of Mexican workers into the U.S. That was just five days before the 9/11 terror attacks.
