None of the 11 candidates have any real interest in rural, or Western, politics in Canada. All are really interested in the same urban, hip, progressive vote.

Memo to Steckle: maybe you should cross the floor to the Conservatives? Someone like you will NEVER win the leadership of today's Liberal Party.

Without a national base, the prospects are scant the Liberals will regain power. The days when they could put together majorities out of Quebec and Ontario are gone forever. Nothing remains of the once mighty Liberal machine in Quebec and in Ontario they're losing ground. One has the feeling that, in Ontario, the Liberals are whistling past the graveyard.
