Free PR for a fictional book.

Does everyone remember the fictional "national treasure" movie?

The best thing that couldhave been done is to ignore the movie.

Agreed.

He has my sympathies but bringing a lawsuit is only asking for the wrong kind of publicity.

better to let the buzz die. Only the most gullible will remember or even care about this book.

The same people who buy into the Da Vinci code are the same ones who believe in UFOs and the Illuminati.

Well, I for one enjoyed National Treasure. Not a great movie by any means, but certainly an entertaining one. I'll probably enjoy the Da Vinci Code as well, given I thought the book was fun (albeit a little annoyign at times).

I disagree. It was a good story - and that's all it was. Just like the Da Vinci Code is a good story.

Good stories arouse interest and make us think. Hollyweird and show business, in general, were predicated on the ability to tell a good story. If one disagrees with the ideas contained within a story, if those ideas offend, religious, ethical or moral precepts, by all means, ignore the movie. But not because the author (or the actors) told a good story. This is too reminiscent of the book burnings in Nazi Germany.

I was surprised by National Treasure, since they did not put Freemasonry in a poor light as typical in films. It was a fun film to boot.
