Douglas MacArthur, author of the roll-back doctrine, however, was not even close to being a democrat.

Correct. I didn't say the Repubs weren't anticommunist. I pointed out that Democrats, prior to 1967, were for the most part, anticommunist. There were, of course, a LOT of exceptions.

Damn, that may have been a SLIGHT defense of pre-1967 democrats.

Don't think I like, trust, or admire any of them in the least. I can't really think of anything, other than JFK's tax cut, that is at all defensible.
