Ah, a sea of red & black bags all over Longhorn stomping ground. Anytime the country's 2nd most conservative city and Texas Tech can get a jump on Austin and the evil empire that is the University of Texas (aka Berkely On the Colorado) is a happy time in my world.

Why don't these cities work on lowering their tax rate and cutting their regulation red tape to attract businesses.
Why do these idiot bureaucrats always think they can attract new businesses by offering up cheap trinkets and bribing them with temporary special deals?
Make your city business-friendly and they will beat a path to your door.

Thanks for the ping...I was in Lubbock for the Art Festival a couple of weeks back.
WOW! What happened to the Tech ghetto? What a change. It was the first time I've been back in several years.

2,000 high-quality tote bags that say "Austin: Live Music Capital of the World."
The order, which will cost the city about $2,000, I've got news. High-quality tote bags cost more than $1 per, especially on a rush order. I wonder how much they really paid?

I've lived in both. Austin USED to be a great town. Now? Shoot, visited there a few years ago and was so incredibly disappointed.
I remembered smoke-filled blues bars; a wild attitude. Now......Austin has been pathetically California-ized. Went to a bar.....no smoking, everyone was sipping their waters as they waited for their tables to open up in the restaurant section.
Color me disgusted.
