Good post.. One of the things is unintended consequences.. If we look back when most women smoked, most women were thin. Now some of those women did die in their 60's of cancer.. and some smoked excessively.

Today some women die fat and unhappy of a heart attack in their 50's. The healthiest and youngest looking woman I know by far for her age is a 52 year old who smokes moderately.

But, most women didn't smoke back then. Most were really fat. Smoking was too politically correct for women.

Today, many women smoke.

And far outlive their overweight, non smoking husbands.
