Thanks for the link! :)
Then eat in your own kitchen.

I appreciate your kind advice and will dine where I can find clean air and good food.
Dining:
These states ban smoking in restaurants and bars: California, Delaware, New York, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey (casinos exempted), Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington. Montana banned smoking in restaurants - bars exempt till 2009. South Dakota had a ban - status unsure. In January 2006 the Territory of Puerto Rico banned smoking in the workplace, including bars and casinos. Smoking in restaurants is banned in a number of cities and counties in other states, but is still common.
Smoke-free Restaurants
And now add the fine restaurants in the Cajun state to that list.
Ah-hhhhhhhhhh!
Like we didn't know you were one of those clueless pot smokers who thinks anyone who smokes tobacco is a direct descendant of Harry Anslinger.
Grow up, will you?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can you qualify the part of your post that is in bold?
I really don't know of anything that I have said that lead you to say what you did.
As a cannabis smoker to a tobacco smoker - how long can you comfortably go without smoking tobacco? (long enough to partake of a restaurant meal?) I can lay down the cannabis at any time with zero withdrawal. I often have partaken of the herb daily -(almost exclusively after 9 pm at home). If it came down to it though - I could simply never again use cannabis - if that were necessary or of my own volition.
And if the air isn't "clean" enough for you, you have no problem letting nanny government put a gun to the heads of private property owners to satisfy your whims.
Do you realize that is the definition of fascism?
Not yet. The article states the bill passed in the Senate - I saw nothing about the House, and also needs the governor's signature.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You are correct on this one. I do believe the Louisiana representatives and Governor Blancho will act to protect the quality of air for the residents.
And if the air isn't "clean" enough for you, you have no problem letting nanny government put a gun to the heads of private property owners to satisfy your whims.
Do you realize that is the definition of fascism?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Re: your use of the word "fascism".
Reply: Your usage of that word is so broad as to leave it's potential application for a range of government mandates in this - greatest of all nations.
(I looked the definition up - Fascism: A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.)
For example - the war against cannabis use was started against Mexicans and Negroes in the mid 1930's. Now that seems more like "fascism" than the Louisiana state clean air law we are discussing. Anyway - the war against cannabis users does also include the use of REAL GUNS and tons of tactical military gear, night vision surveillance and the threat of long prison time. Now that is a case that does resemble fascism, but I have heard no one crying "fascism" about the war against cannabis users.
I do hope that your tobacco supply never ceases and that barring you polluting the air another citizen needs to breathe, I hope your use of tobacco is never limited.
Who cares?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm going to make a big guess that you are referring to "who cares?" about clean air in restaurants is Louisiana.
I'm glad you asked -
Louisiana Smoke-Free Restaurants
It seems that most people care.
We did it! Governor Blanco signed the Louisiana Smoke-Free Air Act (SB 742) into law this morning. Senator Marionneaux, the Louisiana Legislature and the Governor deserve to be commended for their noble effort to take a stand in support of public health in Louisiana.
A special thanks goes to our partners at the Office of Public Health Louisiana Tobacco Control Program, American Cancer Society, American Lung Association, American Heart Association, coalition members and community advocates for all of their hard work and collaboration. We are rebuilding a stronger, healthier Louisiana and look forward to a healthy future of a 100% smoke-free state.
We urge everyone to write and submit letters to the editor of your local newspapers thanking Senator Marionneaux, the Legislature and Governor Blanco for protecting the health of Louisiana's citizens, and we request that you email the Governor with a word of thanks.
Together, we're clearing the air!
