Among the medics, we used to say:

I was active during Reagan's Army and the switch from the cool kits with the P-39s. I kept one of them with my dogtags (under the plastic ID tag covers) until 1989.

For what is is worth, my favorite was the tuna cassorole with a good amount of salt and red sauce. It was a least favorite with others and always easy to trade for.

Anybodt wanna trade my cheesespread for some apple jelly?

One line that always cracked me up was from my Master Chief when going through the chowline on my ship: "They spend thousands of tax dollars and it takes six months to teach these guys how to f*** up perfectly good food."
