I can understand his hesitance. He has worked in the White House before and knows how much time is required. Plus, he has a young family and there would be absences (like foreign trips). Money is a consideration, too, because there are children going to college in a few years.

If I could wave a magic wand, I would make him the press secretary, but this is his call, and we will have to support whatever decision he makes. (You note I am assuming he is first on the list and it is his job to turn down.)
