US President George W. Bush and his wife Laura launched the annual White House Easter egg party today while managing to avoid any awkward moments with dozens of gay couples and their children who attended the outdoor event.
The Easter Egg Roll is a traditional all-American event held on the White House lawn each year since 1878, where kids push an egg with a giant wooden spoon, often with the proud president and his wife looking on.
But gay groups joined the queue for tickets - which were given out to families on a first-come, first served basis at the White House on Sunday.
Despite the opposition of conservative religious groups, Mr Bush and his wife Laura chose not to prevent the gay parents from attending.
The gay groups said their gesture was meant to make their presence felt in American society even though Mr Bush opposes legalising gay marriage.
There were no confrontations or tense moments as the opening of the event was closed to the public, with the president and his wife meeting invited guests, including families of White House staff and volunteers.
The gay parents also chose a discreet approach without any explicit protest, identifying themselves with rainbow-coloured flowers.
"Like other parents in this country, we want to give our children the best opportunities, to shower them with love, to teach them respect and a love for the rich and diverse traditions America has to offer them," said Jennifer Chrisler, executive director for the Family Pride Coalition.
Family Pride has been behind the calls for gay groups to crash the White House party which conservatives have condemned as an attempt to politicise a family event.
In damp, chilly weather, First Lady Laura Bush issued an official welcome before the Easter eggs were rolled across soggy grass outside the White House.
"In Washington, we know that spring has arrived when the White House lawn is filled with children for the Easter Egg Hunt," she said. "I want to thank all of the children here today who brought their parents with them."
The First Lady avoided commenting on the gay couples and before the event her office noted the rules: children of all ages are welcome but there must be at least one aged under seven in each group and no more than two adults in each group.
The gay parents wore leios to diffeerentiate them from the sstraight parents. I imagine that if the straight parents wore something to differentiate themselves from the gays, they would have been arrested for hate crimes for having offended the gay ones. Gays do not want equal rights--they want special rights.
I wonder if they assigned uniformed Secret Service officers to guard the public restrooms until the fudge packers had left?
Oh sure...ALL dads choke the moms to death...right???? No.......butgays kissing each other would be happening and I doubt that ANYONE would WANT to see that. How do you have kids sleepovers??? You would be emabrrassed to death....or maybe you are gay and just don't see how a CHILD would be embarrassed.
If this was really about having their kids being included on a fun day rolling Easter eggs at the White House, I have no problem with that. What I do have a problem with ,is the fact that they are wearing their rainbow colored shirts and flowers, advertising what they do in their bedroom.I don't care! And this once again proves to me this was not about their kids, it was about them and their own personal political agenda.
Gay parents. Let's give this some thought. I won't deny that among many gay couples, many, maybe even a majority, might be a biological parent to a child in a formerly straight life, before breaking all vows to indulge themselves in the self-adulation of the gay world - dragging their child along. The other "parents" are a contrived quasi-relationship based upon a sexual perversion. In the few states that allow such adoptions, the delusion is no less so - legally binding an innocent child to an unnatural, perverted union. In other cases, a gay may borrow the egg or sperm of a "donor" to produce what the "couple" could not - yet another illusion of normalcy in an all-but-normal fantasy world.
"Like other parents in this country..". In deed! How UNLIKE other parents in this entire world, in every age of civilization, these bilge bags are.
And you know this how? Did you walk up and ask their "children"?
"Not true, the girl on girl thing is a way to see two YOUNG women. No one want to see two old women, some of the dikes are soooo ugly that I would never want to see them do anything."
Thanks for making my point for me. You don't find the sex act of two lesbians disgusting when they're two hot chicks.
I find it interesting that when this was first discussed a few months back, the number of gay "families" thought to be attending was stated in the thousands. As it grew nearer, hundreds. Now the actual event and it's dozens.
watching a couple of Lesbians does nothing for me.
1. Porno lesbians are totally fake. Most of the Lesbians I have known of are not that attractive. Some even wear flannel. One I knew could have manhandled me on the football field, and I was a 270 pound offensive lineman...... in Junior High.
2. If they have to use a strap on or something like that, that should tell you that they are not "natural and normal". And Oral sex would start to get very lame if that is all there was. My tongue would get stiff and wear out.
Now gay men.
Where do I start there. I will make it simple. NOT NORMAL.
Hot young lesbian seeks lonely playmate
The scene in "Chasing Amy" put it best:
Banky Edwards: Alright, now see this? This is a four-way road, OK? And dead in the center is a crisp, new, hundred dollar bill. Now, at the end of each of these streets are four people, OK? Are you following?
Holden: Yeah.
Banky Edwards: Good. Over here, we have a male-affectionate, easy to get along with, non-political agenda lesbian. Down here, we have a man-hating, angry as f--k, agenda of rage, bitter dyke. Over here, we got Santa Claus, and up here the Easter Bunny. Which one is going to get to the hundred dollar bill first?
Holden: What is this supposed to prove?
Banky Edwards: No, I'm serious. This is a serious exercise. It's like an SAT question. Which one is going to get to the hundred dollar bill first? The male-friendly lesbian, the man-hating dyke, Santa Claus, or the Easter bunny?
Holden: The man-hating dyke.
Banky Edwards: Good. Why?
Holden: I don't know.
Banky Edwards: Because the other three are figments of your f'ing imagination!
Quote. "Uh oh. I bet Dad and Dad probably had some new ideas where to push the egg and spoon when they got home."
LOL!!
Priceless..
Ya know, I used to have a pretty much live and let live attitude towards the sexually dysfunctional community.
This "in your face" crap is really starting to wear thin.
Gotta wonder what the stats are for sexually dysfunctional behavior among individuals who were raised by individuals who are sexually dysfunctional.
Reproductive Viability = Male + Female.
In all primate species.
Yes. And the experience was one of the motivating factors that changed my attitude from one of "live and let live" to one of rejection.
For a group that expects to be "accepted" - they are among the most politically vicious individuals I have ever known.
Nothing new. Many of the original members of Hitler's Nazi party were sexually dysfunctional.
I talked to a Lesbian in a chat room once.
The woman sounded exactly like GILBERT GODFREY
For a species that likes to see itself as so being highly evolved, Homo Sapiens could learn a thing or two from other primates.
Isn't it interesting that widespread homosexuality is not documented in any other primate species?
Among these "humans", the abuse of technology is what compensates for the sexually dysfunctional's lack of reproductive fitness.
Most bees are not sexually viable. They are content making their altruistic contribution for the benefit of the hive.
These drones, however, want to CONTROL the hive - and that will not be tolerated.
Let the fittest survive.
