I was just looking at Allens website for his senate re-election bid, his philosophy on Government is near perfect!! He has an all American family and his wife just has that first lady look to her which complements George's Presidential leadership 'vibe' Any FReepers know more about allen? Is his name being tossed around for 2008?

Great debating skills howlin

Allen palin doesn't have it. He's got a doofy, howdy doody good ol boy thing going.....and people are not going to vote for that again.

Despite that even a month ago I thought he was a lock for the nomination....not now. People who like him are even admitting he's not adroit.

He'll lose the debates. Prolly lose the primary and even if he wins he will never win in the general election.

George Allen will never be POTUS.

It's beyond an outrage. I am livid and have written e-mails, made telephone calls and our only hopes lie with Senator's Sessions, Kyl and Cronyn.... and then the House.

These senators are so out of touch with the electorate. Unbridled arrogance.

..anyone seeking the nomination from the GOP will not, IMHO, ever get away with an ambiguous position on life.

Agree.

Yep.

The only thing we can do now is show 'em the rope and point at the branch.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't...

But I won't let you get away with your disinformation campaign.

There you go again. In what way have I spread disinformation about Allen? All I did was provide his response to a questionnaire.

So far, no one has rebutted the facts that Allen's abortion position is one based on "viability" and "quality of life." The consensus among his supporters here seems to be that his pro-choice leanings are fine because they simply like Allen.

My response is that there are many pro-lifers who are not so tolerant on this issue as you folks, and will not vote for anyone with his position.

Based on that premise, I have then concluded that, pragmatically, it would be better for the GOP to back someone who can get the pro-life (and pro-borders) vote, rather than risk the election on some sentimental choice.

What part of the first Amendment don't you get?

What part of the Fifth and the Fourteeth Amendments don't you get? Why are the words "God-given, unalienable, life and liberty" so hard for you to comprehend?

You take words out of context and you use them to defend repulsive, unborn-killing, federalism.

Read the entire Constitution. Then go back and carefully read the BOR. Then go find the Federal Papers and read them too.

Observe the context of the Bill of Rights. Then specifically read the Ninth and Tenth Amendment to understand the full context of the Constitution.

Your centralized government interpretation of the Fifth Amendment is comic book-like in its understanding and it's balls-to-the-wall liberal in its philosophy.

Worse yet, it plays into the liberals hands of controlling our judiciary and killing our unborn.

Enjoy your federalism.

Enjoy your federalism.

It would seem that you lack a basic understanding of what 'federalism' is.

It's not a curse word. Our system is a federal system, or was meant to be.

The primary purpose of the Federal Government is to protect the life and liberty of the American people.

Sorry you can't see that, and that you have somehow acquired the idea that somehow the states have the right to alienate unalienable rights.

I don't watch TV much so I haven't had a chance to hear Allen talk.

But I did once have the unfortunate chance from five rows away to listen to Hillary Clinton make a speech.

The first part of the speech her voice was high pitched, wavering and shrill. Then she made some joke about how most of us in the audience didn't vote for her. Everybody laughed. After that she was more relaxed.

The bottom line is she has no personable communications skills.

It's hard to imagine Allen being worse.

Yea there are a couple cases of domestic born terrorists, but they haven't done that much damage. I'm not saying don't arrest people who are terrorists inside teh US I'm just saying we can prevent the overwhelming majority of terrorism if we stop letting muslims in the country. We can do what we are doing now, plus secure our border they aren't mutually exclusive

That's quite a find!

Allen is in the same boat as McCain, Brownback, and Specter on this issue.

Just so you know, it's been kind of a quiet joke around FR about how invested you were in the Duke story.

Actually, the only place I read that was over at the anti-freeper site. You must have seen that when you were reading their thread about YOU, and just ~thought~ you were on FR.
