Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff held a press conference today to discuss the national immigration enforcement policy. Is there anything new in this policy, and will it include a crackdown on employers of illegal aliens? We’ll take a look tonight.
The immigration debate has focused on two choices: amnesty or kick out the 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens. Lawmakers say both options are politically and financially costly. But what about a third option? We'll tell you what else can be done as part of a humane, rational and effective solution to our illegal immigration crisis.
And Congressmen Bernie Sanders of Vermont and Peter DeFazio of Oregon co-wrote a letter to President Bush calling for an Emergency Energy Summit to immediately reduce the skyrocketing cost of gas in the United States.
