"Why is President Bush so determined in his second term to commit political suicide?"
A good question.

He wants to ensure that a fellow one-worlder gains control of the White House after he is gone. Hillary is his best hope, after that McCain.

Wow, so if I rob a bank and hide out for 5 years does that mean I can get off free?

IMO, the repubs are done. They have no backbone to run this country. Never have and never will.
Dems are also done. They are nothing mroe than race baiting liars that want to give this country away for a vote.
Unless something dramatic happens, our country will move closer to a civil war so the people can take back what is theirs. The COUNTRY.

This is the real GWB.
Unfortunately those of us in Texas should have seen this coming and maybe got the word out. He was buddy buddy with a lot of big-time campaign contributers, many of whom used illegal labor. It all fed right into his buddying up with Mexico during his time as Govenor (I don't expect a hostile relationship with a neighboring soverign nation, but I don't expect us to pick up the tab for their social/economic problems and refugees either).

The GOP deserves a thorough ass-kicking in November. They've forgotten who sent them to DC and why.

We're not talking about immigration, we're talking about ILLEGAL immigration.

"The latest burst of bipartisan enthusiasm came when a strange marriage of Republican Sens. John McCain and Bill Frist joined with Democratic Sens. Ted Kennedy and Harry Reid in proclaiming that only those illegal aliens who are in the United States five years or more will be allowed to stay."
Yet, if I don't support John McCain, I'm labeled anti-GOP by an increasingly growing number of folks.

You're giving the American peole way too much credit. A lot of Americans seem more interested in who won American Idol than what's going on in Washington.
You are even giving the Republicans too much credit - I can post a thread about something the government is doing that is very anti-Conservative, and it'll get a small number of responses. I can post a thread about a celebrity bashing Bush, and it'll get hundreds or thousands of responses.
I see things keeping on as they are - more and more government, more and more government power, and more and more people that rely on the government.
I do see the parties losing a lot of supporters, and I see some third parties potentially making gains, but that's about as close as it'll get to "Civil War".

It's not just the GOP committing Political suicide, there are a lot of democrats unhappy with this amnesty bill.
I for one will NOT vote for anyone who supports it. I live in Arizona and am furious that anyone in congress would vote for this bill.
My hope is that it will be DOA in the House where we have more sensible people in power. If they come to some agreement when it goes to conference and amnesty is part of it, I will be pushing for some REAL and TRUE AMERICAN to run for office against McCain.

What every US citizen needs to do is sign up for this amnesty when they finally shove it down out throats. Imagine 280 million people clogging up the system. Better yet, let's all claim to be seeking 'political amnesty' from a tryanical government.

I'm willing to help push the RINOs' on this by pushing them over a cliff. Seems we're going to have to hand things over to the dems for awhile to allow more conservatives back in office.

The GOP and Bush have "led" as if they have a coalition government from 2000 - not a majority.
As a result, the DIMs were allowed to be too big for their "britches"
The result is that now, there really is a coalition government.
2006 will change that (not for the better, on our side).

We're not talking about immigration, we're talking about ILLEGAL immigration. It is only illegal since some bean counters say we can only have x number of legal immigrants. The numbers of legal immigrants allowed in has been way too low for many years. To me, the difference between legal and illegal is arbitrary.
To: stopem
LEGAL immigration, may benefit in some ways but this is ILLEGAL that is being discussed. The cross out the 'IL' and make the legal. Problem solved.
To: MadeInAmerica
IMO, the repubs are done-- because the party has been infiltrated and corrupted by people who have used the power and the bank account of the party to radicalize it and put people into power that would not otherwise have been able to achieve it.
