Which would be suicide for Iran. It's one thing to project power and take territory from someone else. It's quite another to defend territory someone is trying to take from you.
It would be nice to fight a battle where, for once, we had the defenders advantage. After a fierce defensive battle, which we would undoubtedly win, Iran's losses would leave it vulnerable to a quick riposte into their territory.

"We" (I wasn't there) had the defender's advantage ... and after we figued out what was what, we annihilated the Viet Cong.
Huge victory, right?
