Frist and Reid just announced a compromise on a Senate immigration bill.

Both McCain and Kennedy are on board.

If THEY all agree there is a real devil hidden in the details.

Compromise, i.e. consensus...the absence of leadership

Senate Republicans like McCain, Frist, Martinez, Hagel and Spector who are in cahoots with Senate Democrats, are a disgrace to the United States of America. This is pure BULLS**T!

Cloture on the Spector bill just failed by a 39-60 vote in the Senate. Filibuster time.

Well...a lot of us here have been screaming to the skies for weeks and weeks now about what'll happen if Congress sells us out on immigration issues. It looks like it's going to happen, so we have some hard decisions to make coming into November. Do we risk handing seats to Democrats to teach our Republican representatives a lesson not to ignore the will of the people on immigration?

I've got a lot of thinking to do between now and Election Day.

"There's been tremendous progress overnight," said Sen. Harry Reid

Which, translated into English, means the Senate Republicans have sold out the base and agreed to do what the Democrats want.

This means outrageous bureaucratic red tape. What if all illegals say they have been here for more than 5 years. I mean they are all "undocumented". Who's to make the final determination of how long they have been here.

Anyone for a new party this November?

Whoa! This is just the Senate, its only one house of Congress. The House of Representatives has a much different immigration reform bill. The Senate version isn't going anywhere until it's reconciled with the House version.

I hope the House hangs tough.

Frist and most of the Republican Senators are as vile as the Dems. They should all be flushed.

This cockamamie scheme is unworkable and these lying panderers know it.

The sad thing about this is, like the tax issue during his Daddy's term, it will be used by the Dems against us in 2006 and 2008. The Repubs are being sucker-punched and don't even know it.

Both McCain and Kennedy are on board.

Speaking of McCain, he will be signing copies of his new book at BORDERS, in West Lebanon, New Hampshire, this Saturday, APRIL 8th, from Noon to 1:30 p.m...in case anyone wants to swing by and ket him know what they think of the Senate's immigrant bill.
