Illegals

I have been listening to the 'talking head' pundits on the MSM networks today. The topic of the "migrants" came up. These people are not migrants. They are illegal invaders to the US.

The 'heads' stated that they do not put much of a burden on our country.

Poppycock! It costs a minimum of $5000 a year to teach their kids. They clog our hospitals with minor ailments by going to emergency rooms instead of doctors they cannot or will not afford.

I had a near fatal malady a couple years ago and it took me over 4 hours to be seen due to the crush of Hispanics. I can't say for sure they were illegals but none were speaking English to the hospital staff. If it looks like a duck... Well you get the point.

We are told they are doing jobs legal citizens won't do. Well, that is partly true and partly due to the low wages employers are able to get away with paying. We are also told that the economy couldn't take the hit.

I agree there would be ramifications but the reduced costs to the government would certainly offset part of that hit. It is estimated that one-third of the prison/jail population is comprised of illegals. No small costs there.

I absolutely refuse to believe the economic consequences of paying a fair wage to legal workers would cause burgers to cost $6.00! Those are the rantings of the looney left who are desperate and exaggerating any idea for political purposes.

It doesn't wash. Besides, the taxes paid by legal workers
would have a positive effect on the economy.

The 'heads' also said the proposed legislation didn't amount to amnesty.

More Poppycock! First the reality of the situation. Many of those in this country illegally have warrants and will avoid the registration. Many more are terrified of authority and will not join in.

There has been NO discussion about the penalty for failing to register. I doubt our leaders even thought about that. And if they did, it won't be enforced.

We are told there are 11M illegals. Is that workers or total including kids and non-working people? If it is total, then that represents about 6-7M working illegals. That amounts to about 5% of the workforce. What percentage of our resources does this group represent? Just the cost to our citizens from uninsured illegal drivers is in the hundreds of millions.

If the 11M is workers, then the total illegal population must be over 17M. That is untenable.

So, what can be done? How about this -

1) Give every illegal one year from some near date to register and receive a card (uncopyable, and it CAN be done). They would be allowed to remain in the country for NO MORE than one year and must keep their address and employment info current.

2) Perform a vigorous background check on each individual.

3) Then give them a year to return to their home country even if for only 5 minutes.

4) They would then be allowed to re-enter if and only if they passed the background check. They could appeal the ruling.

Those not entering into the program would be returned to their home country and not allowed to return.

I realize this would be expensive to implement but the long term benefits would far outweigh the costs.

Oh, a universal clearing of voter rolls is needed and MUST be implemented.

Now, I am sure there are bleeding hearts that will yell that this is all against the Constitution and parts may be. BUT any concept can be written to conform without losing much, if any meaning. The Constitution 'bleeds' far more from illegal voters altering the true outcome of our
elections.

Comments welcome but don't just say this is stupid. I want detailed criticism.

You make a good point.

The left want the illegals here and makes excuses for them.

Connect the dots. The left wants the illegals here. Our government wants the illegals here.

Is all of our government left-wing, while some in the government pretend to be otherwise?
