The last of U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris' key staffers appear ready to abandon her campaign for the U.S. Senate in a wave of resignations expected to start this weekend.
Sources close to the campaign said Friday that the defections would touch virtually every level of her operation.
Harris, who is running against Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson, is likely to lose her chief political strategist, her campaign manager, her spokeswoman, her director of field operations and even a traveling aide who helps hand out stickers at campaign appearances.
It is the latest and most dramatic indication so far that her campaign is on the verge of collapse.
"I've never seen staffers go like this," said David Johnson, a Republican pollster and consultant. "It's just imploding."
Calls and e-mails to the campaign were not returned Friday night, but sources said Harris met with staffers earlier in the day to tell them she would be hiring new people to replace those who had already left.
Campaign workers could stay, she said, but they would have to recommit themselves to the Senate race. She gave them until 5 p.m. Sunday to decide.
Two sources familiar with what happened at the meeting said Harris, in part, blamed the staff for the chaos that has consumed the campaign. Those sources did not want to be identified because they were not authorized to speak for the campaign.

She seems perfectly well dressed for horseback riding. Jeans, a t-shirt and boots seem to be pretty standard for that activity.
It's not like she's wearing a bikini or something inappropriate. Maybe you'd prefer she wear a hoop skirt and ride side saddle.
No question she looks to be attractive and in amazing shape in that photo. But I hardly think she looks slutty, or that her attire is an embarrassment to the Republicans, herself or anyone else.
Sheesh. Maybe next time she'll wear a burka so you don't get aroused.
She should wear frumpy clothes to hide her figure. Just kidding. She's not unhinged cuz she has nice mams. She's unhinged cuz she's a birdbrain. Duh.

Not from Florida, but I'd vote for her. She took a lot of crap from the media and still is, apparently.
Seriously people. I am inclined to support Harris (with a check though so far it is only because of her courage in the 2000 election. If she is a ditz, please let us "out of staters" know the lay of the land. We understand that it will take several commenters to give us a feel for what is really going on. Remember, we depend on each other for the truth in face of the distortions perpetrated daily by the MSM. And thank you.

She has run what has to be one of the most incompetent Senate campaigns in recent memory. Nelson would have his way with her in a general; it's really embarrassing. The Bushies didn't want her to run because they saw how she kept losing margin in her Sarasota district while alienating potential supporters. The Sarasota seat was one of the safest in the country, and Katherine found a way to screw it up. Really, the only way Nelson gets beat is if Jeb gets in the race.
Otherwise, this is a Dem Hold.

You're right. She's dressed neatly - jeans, t-shirt tucked in. I don't see how the fact that she fills them very nicely makes her looks "slutty." It's not like she's posing with her legs spread like Bubba did on a mag cover!
When is the filing deadline? How much time is left before the date is passed where more Republicans can enter the race? Has the primary happened yet?
I used to know Katherine personally and your post is the about the most asinine comment I have ever read on this site.

Oh, come on. Did you see her one appearance on Hannity & Colmes the night she announced her candidacy for the senate, where she stood sideways before the camera? She was deliberately trying to get people to look at her breasts. There were millions of people watching that interview and tens of thousands in Florida. Why do you think she's trailing so bad against Nelson? The latest poll, according to Strategic Vision, has got Nelson at 56% and Harris at 28%. He's beating her TWO TO ONE! And Nelson hasn't done anything or offered anything in his own campaign that could possibly get him that much support from Florida voters. People are simply voting AGAINST Harris at this point.
She can never win, it's time for Harris to do what's best for the party and back down.
