If I remember hearing right, were not more B-24 Liberators manufactured than B-17's?

I read that they were making 24 a day....Ford Motor Company was the primary manuf.

don't ask me for a link; I read that back in the 70's.

You are corect there were 18,000+ B-24s built versue just under 13,000 B-17s assembeled.

The B-17 was al ittle easier to fly than the Lberator but the B-24 had a longer range and bigger payload.

All in all a great 1, 2 punch for the USAAF in WW-II

Not sure about the number, but I believe the Liberators delivered more tonnage of bombs than the Flying Forts. They were the workhorse bomber of WWII.
