Lou Dobbs, the nation's most prominent opponent of current immigration policy, began his day yesterday on the "Today" show on NBC, debating a Hispanic defender of illegal immigrants. He moved on to "American Morning" on CNN to denounce a bill passed by the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday as "an amnesty program."
On the CNN morning show Dobbs called the Senate bill "an unconscionable act" and "a sellout." He appeared again on CNN's midday "Live From..." program, saying, "I think illegal immigrants are a burden to the taxpayer, unequivocally."
This followed by just a day a confrontation between Mr. Dobbs and a guest on his own program, Janet Murguia, the president of the Hispanic civil rights group National Council of La Raza, during which he lectured her on immigration policy.

My biggest problem with Dobbs is that when he was on his anti-outsourcing kick over the last couple of years he ended up taking a lot of untenable, irrational positions and making idiotic statements that were easily debunked by anyone with even a cursory understanding of economics.
To: Dr. Scarpetta
He earned my respect, as opposed to others that stand with leaders of invading masses and call them 'vigilantes'.

Most Americans have no idea what the words "national sovereignty" means. Freeper LS is a history professor and when asked, told me hardly any of his students had a clue, nor did they give a fig, about America being a sovereign nation.

Do you also call the President a vote whore? I know he received 44% of the Mexican vote, and the party will win elections because of this. They will just make up the 12 point lead that Dims get from latinos, by volume. Or by being a vote whore.

I wish there were more U.S. Senators like Lou Dobbs, i.e. actual patriots who cared about the welfare of their nation.

On every issue I know of on which Lou Dobbs disagrees with the President, I agree with Lou Dobbs.

What do you expect?
If students actually learned things-like history, for example-then there wouldn't be a need for a vast, inept, public education bureaucracy.

i like lou. he isn't a bush hater, he is an anti-corporatist in that he thinks the middle class is always getting screwed by this administration in favor of corporations. hard to disagree with that trend in my view. You are in Lou's sweet spot. He's hoping to keep you riled against those greedy corporatists.
Have you seen Rasmussen's latest poll?
Over 55% of Americans say they're better off now than they were four years ago. Yet, to listen to Dobbs, nobody's working, nobody's making any money, and The Man has his boot on the throat of the workin' man!
That's pure demagoguery, but the David vs. Goliath theme always plays well to those who love employees but hate employers.

"I have been watching Lou every night at 6 now and recording him. He has the most comprehensive and fair coverage of the illegal immigration issue that most other networks are afraid to cover. I am a Fox News fan but Lou has even got them beat on this issue."
I agree.

"After critics of the Minutemen called them "vigilantes for patrolling the Mexican border in search of illegal aliens, Lou Dobbs declared: "I support the Minuteman Project and the fine Americans who make it up in all theyve accomplished, fully, relentlessly and proudly. Dobbs says he has a "mission to tell viewers the truth, regardless of controversy.
