Just heard driving home Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-Ga) has been accused of slapping a Capitol Guard (?) over some type of dispute. 10 second story nothing follows.
That's true. The Dems revealed their (SNORT) security plan this morning. McKinney'll make a great poster girl for it.
I agree I don't remember that.
For all you other Freepers if you want the best talk show on this tomorrow it will have to be Neal Boortz. He is out of ATL but syndicated
I don't know if he is webcast or not.
Whatever the case he is going to have a field day with this.
FL in ATL
Bet they're trying to er...convince the officer to drop the charges.
LOL!
"I don't need to be stopped or questioned because I happen to look like hired help."
This is classic. Not to mention an offense to the hired help.

This thing is absolutely ridiculous. I'm not surprised she turned it into a race thing - but she's obviously forgotten that after 9/11 we cannot afford to take any chances. The cop was doing exactly what he is paid to do. She should be thanking him - instead she's inferring he's a racist. I hope he sues her for defamation of character.
/sarcasm
In her awful district, this only assures her perpetual re-election.
The "do as I say, not as I do" mentality. I hate the holier than thou approach most politicians have.
Still not as bad--- as the vice president.
Looks like Whitney tried to kiss a train.
"Earlier today I had an unfortunate confrontation with a Capitol Hill Police Officer. It is traditional protocol that Capitol Hill Police Officers secure 535 Members of Congress, including 100 Senators. It is the expectation of most Members of Congress that Capitol Hill Police officers know who they are. I was urgently trying to get to an important meeting on time to fulfill my obligations to my constituents. Unfortunately, the Police Officer did not recognize me as a Member of Congress and a confrontation ensued. I did not have on my Congressional pin but showed the Police Officer my Congressional ID.
"I know that Capitol Hill Police are securing our safety, that of thousands of others, and I appreciate the work that they do. I deeply regret that the incident occurred. I have demonstrated my support for them in the past and I continue to support them now."
So, the incident is the cop's fault for not recognizing her.
I hope the video is released.
"...elected as a result of a gerrymandered district, she is royalty to her constituents."
Unfortunately, IMO, this it true of way too many congressmen and state reps from both sides. My own area (Virginia) was carved into bizare sections by Republicans that made a very safe area for a Democrat, but also made even safer areas for Republicans.
She's got a chip on her shoulder labeled "race." She sees everything through a prism of white racism, and she thinks that a simple failure of a security guard to recognize her through all her changing hairstyles means that they think she's a maid, no matter that they're simply trying to do their jobs.
Must be really tough to live life like that.
See what a couple years off will do to ya. LOL
Go Troll somewhere else, I suspect a troll here.....
You actually think an accident is worse than a purposeful act of assault...
Out for a Troll huh?
WSB-TV just read a statement received "moments ago"
Bless her heart, she had important work to do for her constitutents (Blech!) was in a hurry. Did not have her official tags, but did have her ID. Bottom line---an unfortunate incident, but not her fault.
