FLORENCE, Ky. - He said it was a prank gone wrong, but police are taking a 13-year-old student's alleged threats against the president very seriously. Authorities have charged the teen with terroristic threatening, a felony.

The Ockerman Middle School student is accused of making threats against the city of Florence and the president of the United States in e-mails he allegedly sent to city officials, police said.

Principal David Claggett told News 5 that the teen claimed the e-mails were just a joke.

"He said, 'Well, I was just messing around, just kidding around. I wasn't really serious about it,'" Claggett said.

He said, 'Well, I was just messing around, just kidding around. I wasn't really serious about it.

The Secret Service agents can tell him the same thing after they cuff, question, and teach this youngin' a very important lesson.

Lesson #1, under certain circumstances, it is a bad idea to be a spoiled brat.
"Just kidding" is effective only with mommy, when real threats and killings happen every day.
Put duct tape on this idiot kid if he ever goes to an airport!

"The parents?"

You've got to wonder...

When I was that age, I did shoot a window with a BB gun and that didn't make my parents bad parents - it was my fault. But they defininately taught me not to threaten to kill people.

Have we at last become such a nation of paranoid fools that we cant make a distinction between the next Lee Harvey Oswald and a moody little boy?

You do have a point.

But moody boys do shoot people on occasion.
And we (the U.S.) really try to send the message "Don't threaten our President's life."

Bet you were disciplined, too. If you were caught.

One thing to do something stupid and be punished and another to do something stupid and not be punished or worse encouraged.

Fine, if the kid has a notebook with a 'classmates to kill' list and talks about his dad's guns sure you have cause for concern there. The same doesnt apply for this kid talking about killing Bush, I mean seriuously what do you think he might have done? Rode his bike down to DC, outwitted the Secret Service and actually shot Bush? Its idiotic, its a waste of time and tax dollars to boot.

Nothing to worry about--he was just acting out as a result of his teacher having sex with him.

The day prayer was taken out of the public schools is the day the moral compass fell of its needle. We have evolved into a country of inconsiderate lawless heathens. Speeding down the highway, office supplies at work, sales tax payments, taking/giving bribes to get permits, intemperate publicly made threats against the lives of others. Should be no surprise that in a society of "it depends" would come up with someone, no matter how young, that would think it was funny to threaten the POTUS.
