He simply doesn't want Canada to be left out of the Turn-Your-Country-Into-A-Shithole-Third-World-Country sweepstakes. America is already fully on-board. NEXT!!!

Mexico has a failed economy, cannot provide for its' citizens be it education, health or most services.
Without the United States and Canada providing jobs to Mexicans a truly bloody revolution would have taken place by now, Fox is just trying not to be hung by his heels.

I realize this is rhetorical, but what is stopping El Presidente from creating jobs in his own Country, instead of demanding that other Countries provide jobs for him??

I have a rough figure from memory about the religious breakdown in Ireland - Ireland was 95% Catholic ten years ago, it's now 85%(?), such a rapid change couldn't all be blamed on a secular trend in this country, it means basically a huge rise in immigration here in ten years.

And how many immigrants to Ireland have actually assimilated to Irich culture? That will be the telling point, and what a large part of the problem is here in the US. It isn't that there have been so many, though it *is* rapidly becoming a problem, it's the breakdown of the traditional assimilation that is really causing the headaches.

There have long *been* people of Mexican heritage here in the US, and the majority of those assimilated just fine. These folks truly did, and still do add to our nation, even though they were *not* treated with absolute fairness from the start, a fact which is readily admitted.

The more recent arrivals, on the other hand, have few skills, little to no education, are unwilling to assimilate, and sadly, are easy prey for the unscrupulous to exploit. I've seen much of it, and even more has my wife, who is herself an Hispanic first generation, legal immigrant. There is more to many conservatives' opposition to the unchecked fiasco we have now, than racism (little to any of that), economic concerns (more of a concern), or security concerns (the greatest concern at the moment to most)...

Pretty simple, he wants to rid Mexico of anyone with any indian blood, only pure spanish are welcome.

I was going to rest on my laurels, re a compliment on a nasty business. This of Diaz and the hounding of persons who object to illegal aliens. This concerned the mass marches against immigration reform.

Your statement raises an extremely important issue. That of a peculiar brand of racial discrimination by those who ACCUSE Americans of the same.

I had not given it too much thought though. In far off Egypt (where I was a' serving of 'is Majesty the King) The lighter skinned Egyptians form a heirachy. In Cuba, it is the lighter skinned high poobahs, who rule. I am now going to have to do some very careful research. The name HIDALGO comes to mind, in researching things MEXICO. This was the ruling class in old Hispania.

All this throws me off mentioning my adopted home town and it's 7.1 unemployment. The local press sheds tears over the amount of young people we lose. They cannot get jobs easily and go en masse to Alberta.

A bit of a homily here, but thank you. Now to the books. LOL

They are not assimilating too good - ghettos are on the rise here. It's strange to think - Ireland, like America, has historically been a melting-pot (e.g. the Normans and Vikings), but thanks to Multiculturism - that has all changed.

If you look at the dynamics of Mexico: 500 years of govt/church favoritism & corruption
Napoleonic (backward) legal system
Socialism/collectivism on many levels
an incredibly inept/entrenched bureaucracy on all levels

what chance did Vicente have in enacting real reform ?

Kinda like Arnold's chance of achieving success in Calif. against a Dem. legislature

Rise up people - remove the bureaucrats from office & kill all the lawyers

If you perchance think that this is a coincidence, disabuse yourself of the notion. If something happens a particular way, then you can rest assured that someone, somewhere, planned it that way...

There's a world of difference

Guest workers versus guest workers & their whole famdamily.

All the problems stem the framdamily component.

I don't believe in coincidences when it comes to things like multiculurism or falling birth rates - there are people who understand Human Nature only too well - they know how to push the right buttons.

Your mind is as sharp as a tack. The Hidalgueria, or as we would call them, the Hidalgos, are the same "whites of pure, or mostly pure Spanish birth" who have governed Mexico, indeed *all* of Hispanic America (both Central and South America) since the coming of the conquistadores. They go by various names, dependant on which region of Hispanic America you happen to be in, but its the same pattern...
