Simple math has become a real problem in newsrooms. Not even watching too closely for errors, I've noticed: * Lyn Nofziger's passing at age 81 reported initially as age 71. * Kirby Puckett's stroke and death had him listed as age 44, 45 and 46 in various news reports. * Jeff Bagwell was listed as the Astros' franchise leader in runs scored, a mark actually held by Craig Biggio. That's just in the past couple of weeks from someone who doesn't comb everything across the wires. Always makes you wonder, when the easy-to-check facts are incorrect, how many other "facts" are we given that are simply untrue.
