No, they were in two separate groups screaming about having to leave the US or be arrested.

Once you're in, it's very hard to get out. Agreed .. and Diane even said that .. she says once they are here with their families, they stay here

Interesting story from DiFi (you never can be sure these people are telling the truth) that they had ads for ag workers put up in 58 welfare offices and didn't get a single application. (After thinking about it, I actually don't believe her.)

After hearing Diane .. I don't think she gets it
Cornyn is right .. by Diane's thinking .. what's the point of immigration law if you aren't going to enforce it

It's all smoke... the Dem/RINO game-plan is to bolux up whatever Republicans put on the table. Of course, if they can pass the McCain/Kennedy plan they'd go for it... but leaving things as they are is the goal.
Open borders and carte blanche for all who come... the socialists dream.

Sounds like Brownback like's Diane's amendmentIt has got to be because of pressure from the Kansas ag industry. That he would favor such an abomination of a bill for such a reason, if that is in fact the case, does not speak well for him.

A workday in DiFi's bill is defined as ONE HOUR. Sessions is making the case for being much more careful with this legislation.

Ya know.
One thing that came to mind when I heard about these "protests" is this.
"Why the Hell aren't these people protesting in MEXICO telling MEXICO to the government in MEXICO?"
To: Mo1
Thanks for THAT note....well, duh Diane, that sounds like wonderful legislation, NOT.
BTW...I am sitting here watching Sen. Cute as a button...and Lindsey Graham is acting like a GOOF right beside him...it is so distracting.
To: OXENinFLA
Sen. Kyl: Illegals don't have to go home for 5 years. Then they will.
[Reality check, Senator! Why would they go back in 5 years, when Congress can't even get them out now?????]

So far, Cornyn seems to be making the most sense, along with Sessions and Kyl...
But, like they keep mentioning, all of this will STILL have to be debated on the floor.
To: Bahbah
that they had ads for ag workers put up in 58 welfare offices and didn't get a single application. (After thinking about it, I actually don't believe her. My thought was if no one applied were the illegals truly interested in this area of employment? Wonder if the ad read Illegals Wanted for Agriculture Work? Apparently legals were not part of her findings since she did not note them in her comments regarding the result that not one single person presented himself.

"Why the Hell aren't these people protesting in MEXICO telling MEXICO to the government in MEXICO?"
Exactly.
If Mexico would improve its conditions, they wouldn't have to come to the US anyway.
Rusty Humphries was subbing for Laura Ingraham this morning. He said Mexico is not a poor country. The uppers there are very well off. We know Mexico has large oil reserves.
The US government needs to be pressuring Mexico to improve conditions within Mexico.
What happened to all those auto and other manufacturing that were moving to Mexico in the early 90s? Why aren't they employing these illegals?
For Mexico, the illegals situation is a windfall. One of Mexico's largest exports is illegals to the US. One of Mexico's largest imports is dollars those illegals are sending back to Mexico. Win, win for Mexico.

Specter is going to keep them in session until they get a bill out.
He wants to get his bill ahead of the Frist bill, maybe.
The Sensenbrenner bill in the House may be the best of the 3, however.
