We are not a "nation of immigrants." This is both a factual error and a warm-and-fuzzy non sequitur. Eighty-five percent of the residents currently in the United States were born here. Sure, we are almost all descendants of immigrants. But we are not a "nation of immigrants."
(Isnt it funny, by the way, how the politically correct multiculturalists who claim we are a nation of immigrants are sooo insensitive toward Native American Indians, Native Alaskans, Native Hawaiians, and descendants of black slaves who did not immigrate here in any common sense of the word?)
Even if we were a nation of immigrants, it does not explain why we should be against sensible immigration control.

Go ahead and put that in, no problem by me. I would make that morally law abiding, since some past American laws weren't that great, such as slavery. Ok, Dane. Nuff said -

That's for sure, but they are not as great of an enemy as those who walk through the halls of Congress. It's their greed and lust for power that makes them so dangerous. We need to clean house, from the top to the bottom

No kidding.
No wonder Mitch Daniels wanted to leave this administration.

What is Bush supposed to do as long as Californians, themselves, do nothing? Can you say "Federal jurisdiction, ms. clairol? The gov could declare a state of emergency like the other border states did, (meaningless in effect) but immigration law is ALL federal.

At the moment I'm too p.o.'d to do anything. Some freak stole one of our cars late this afternoon/early evening.
Probably in mejico as we speak, or nearing it.

I sure hope, for his sake, the cops find him first.
On top of all this crap all weekend, to have this happen in So. Cal to our family...hits a little too close to home, ya know?
Oh. And yes. For the public record. That IS a threat, and a promise. A real big promise.

It was a poor definition, anyways. If you define family values as promoting a hard working, family oriented, and socially conservative attitude, anything could pass for a family if you just use generalities!
"Family" could be Hillary's village.

But thank you. I know what you're saying, and I appreciate it.

Oops, that's what I meant.

Anyway, I'll be sending prayers/good thoughts your way.
Hopefully, this will work itself out.

"Uh people like tancredo, haven't sent him a bill." Uh, Dane... Please try and keep up. The bill from the IRC went through the house without a snag. The Senate is the problem ATM. Likely due to the same resistance that Rep Tancredo was getting at the party level.
"People like tancredo, IMO, are more interested in bringing in the PAC bucks, tancredo runs with his co-chair, bay buchanan, than actually trying to solve the problem."
Tancredo's been being stonewalled at the party level for several years on this issue. The purpose of the PAC is to raise awareness of the issue and break through the negative momentum up on the hill. Somebody had to take the bull by the horns because both the DNC and RNC are both scared to push a solution.
People like Mehlman, IMO are more worried about keeping their little money tree growing than about whether or not we still have a sovereign country left in 30 years. You want to find the self-interested a$$hat position on this issue, look no further than your good buddies McFlame and Hitlery.

Why is it that the open borders crowd has consistently sided with Democrats on immigration and border policies, like whether or not to add one-thousand extra border patrol agents? When a Tom Tancredo-type figure starts whipping things up, he is the one who is doing it out of sheer politics, greed, or dementia.
