Part of the problem with enforcing the state's code regulating alcohol sales is "people still think that a bar is place to go get drunk," Beck said. "People can go into bars and have fun with their friends and not become intoxicated to the point whether they may become a danger to themselves or others."
I'm sorry officer I was just drinking to have fun and lost count...

"Public intoxication" is a criminal offense in most states. Bars, like malls and other private institutions open to the public, are "public".
I (a Texican) don't agree with arresting people for being drunk inside a bar, but do think we are way too soft on DWI.
Another side to this is: local blow-hards complain that local cops don't enough time or people, etc. to enforce any immigration laws. Yet they have the time and people to arrest drunks inside a bar? I would rather put their time to use arresting people who are "breaking and entering" this country.

"...Beck said." Well, OK then, as long as who-the-hell-is- Beck said so!
My definition of fun is probably alot different than most folks. I like to take Mr. X's credit card to the mall and watch the numbers melt off. Your definition of fun may be different, and that's fine by me.
Becksaid is not protecting anyone, Becksaid is stomping on the Constitutional Right to Assemble. The technical reason, public drunkenness, is a misdemeanor, but it still will appear as a criminal record in any background check. I wonder if any of these 2,200 people have been denied a job or a house because of this PC BS?
