You are not a "nobody". You are why I joined the Army. Thank you for being there and being worth giving my career choice! You do know that's why we do it. Not initially, no. We first join because we want to prove that we are truly men [Of course, I'm only speaking for my gender, no offense]! And then we realize that it goes beyond us and out to our families and friends. We see what an impact it has in our communities. After a long while, we see how it truly impacts international relations, military service that is, and how the detractors are ALWAYS the ones who have something negative to add to the mix of anti-US commentary. After all is said, folks like myself try to resign themselves to supporting people like you and ignore those who deny democracy and freedom. That's not a quip. That is truly how I feel and how I see my ultimate command structure. For the vast part, those above me and those under my command are in it for the long haul and love to give our time (and arguably our lives) for the time we have at home with people like you. I wouldn't trade it for all of Bin Laden's money.
Keep your chin up!
It might not seem like it sometimes, but we got your back. Go ahead and watch tv for your news. Then come here and see what America really thinks.
We love you. Many of us have children you have/may treat.
You'll also find we're quite a cocky crowd. Because of you and your boys. Because you kick ass!
God bless you.
I do all that I know of and can do to defend our defenders. If you need anything let me know.
