Mixing HIV and ABCs? Not with my Child (Andrea Peyser says no to AIDS indoctrination)

HERE'S another reason to keep my precious daughter away from the public schools: Childless eggheads who dictate educational policy think it's high time kids her age were indoctrinated in the ways of AIDS. Like hell. My child is a first-grader, thriving in an outrageously expensive private school. There, she is learning about arctic puffins and can run faster than most boys. This child is still an innocent - unschooled in the intricacies of procreation, death and incurable disease.

It would not be that way in a public classroom.

Faceless activists there want to add these words to the vocabulary of children her age - Virus. HIV. AIDS. Even cancer. Under an updated curriculum, all public-school students - starting in kindergarten! - are required to learn about the disease that we know is spread through unsafe sex, intravenous drugs and tainted blood.

But the first-grade learning guide, of which I have a copy, dances around the issues of sex and drugs while needlessly scaring the heck out of little kids.

Who will explain what he or she is not ready to know? As always, parents may "opt out," in writing.

But parents should demand that those who want to be included should "opt in" to the program - so as not to subject their children to embarrassment.

My child will learn about AIDS when she is ready. That day will certainly come sooner than I'd like. She is not a guinea pig for people with an agenda. My only agenda is to let her grow up. And keep her away from that trash heap known as public school. andrea.peyser@nypost.com

She is not a guinea pig for people with an agenda.

As long as the author is not educating her own child, that is all her child is. Some agendas are not as bad as others. Choosing between schools gives the author some limited choice over what agenda is being imposed. But her daughter is, nevertheless, a guinea pig for an agenda.

Another wastefully expensive program in the public schools...

Most parents still trust "teachers", and have NO IDEA what is being done to their children. Even worse, I'm convinced a healthy segment of parents don't even care.

If "educators" are so concerned about a kid's welfare, then why focus on AIDS??? A first grader can't possibly get AIDS through his own actions. Why don't they give lectures on TB, high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer, diabetes? Can you say "agenda?"

I think first grade is a bit early to learn about AIDS and STD's. I think fifth or sixth grade should be safe. Let's not forget that the "fastest growing" group of HIV infections is heterosexuals.

My job as a parent of a first grader is to protect and nurture that child. That includes protecting him from the loss of innocence that these "educators" so desire.

The AIDS curricula is a good way to proselytize young impressionable minds into the homo lifestyle. The "chicken hawks" will be waiting in the wings for new recruits.

I think fifth or sixth grade should be safe.

This is a sarcasm tag: (s)(/s). We use this on FR when we make statements that suggest 10- and 11-year-olds need to know about STD's. Otherwise, people might think we're interested in having sex with children that age, and that would be disgusting.

If they want to bring up HIV, AIDS and safe sex to a first-grader, then I reserve the right to teach my first-grader to address them (homosexuals of all stripes) as SODOMITES.

SUNDAY SERMON

This is another poke in the eye of Christians.

Now let this word go out loud and clear. Politicans will not get the votes of Christian conservatives unless they actively and vociferously oppose the anti-Christian agenda of abortion on demand, gay rights, tax-funded K-12 sex/contraceptive brainwashing, and so on.

Any candidate (or incumbent) who voted in favor of, or who espouses, anti-prayer, anti-life, pro-gay, and pro-sex-ed positions evidences a hatred toward believers. These candidates should be advised that they cannot be seriously considered for public office at any level of our government.

Politicians will soon get the message that Christians mean business.

As the disintegration of Western civilization continues, it becomes clearer that straying from our birthright, and the Founders' Christian-based principles, endangers our freedoms, and our government, and is forcing us to relive the savagery of the past, away from the distinctly American values the Founders envisioned. Christians must act precipitously.

The restoration of American culture is in the hands of Christians. Christmas, a singular event that recognizes the birth of Jesus, the Christ Child, is celebrated by as many as 96% of Americans, most of whom are churchgoing, patriotic Americans, with strong religious faith that happily co-exists with love of their country.

Well, as far as I know, quite a few 11 and 12 year olds are sexually active. Stop by a local movie theater if you need "proof." To say that children don't need education on the realities of STD's, contraception, etc, BEFORE they start having sex is asking for trouble.

Pedophiles have longer operated on the premise that children's brains are exactly like adult brains.

That there is no such thing as "childhood". Just younger and more attractive adults.
