The judge on FOX said that it only takes 18 to 24 months for all appeals to run out in Florida. By contrast, he said, it takes 20 years in California.

Nope, Florida is a lot like Texas, in cases like this where there is video evidence, etc., you go to the front of the line. He'll be dead in about a year and a half.
