HHS is full of thieves. They are stealing money from productive people and funding loutish behavior to buy votes.

Finally, a post that gets it. The guy's job was being a parasite.

The hilarious part about this is that the Democrats saved the Bush Administration from the embarassment of having a sitting federal judge arrested for a charge that is darn close to shoplifting.

LOL! You're right, and you're wrong.

The blacktrobed godlettes take care of their own. You don't REALLY think that a sitting federal judge would have these kind of charges leveled against him, do you?

They would have evaporated like morning mist on a hot summer day (after the judge got a stern talking-to in the back room down at the federal court).

One more ember in the attempted destruction of the Bush administration.

How many in the Slick Willy years, were either indicted, spent time in the slammer or should have speant time in the slammer.

Yep, I "get it" just fine. On one hand "get it" means understanding the problem. On the other hand "get it" is why my pants get charred by the neocons here on FR.

I guess that's why stores like Best Buy have all the guards at the entrance who won't let you enter with returns ... all returns are ticketed at the door. No ticket, no return.

Who knew?

Whenever somebody resigns from a job to "spend more time with the family," alarm bells go off.

This is not a new scam, and that is why most major big boxes now do check your bags when you go in, and they actually put a sticker on any return item you are bringing back in.

Even under this scheme, he eventually would be caught, especially using credit cards. There are computer programs being developed that can help track people who do this. When inventory is checked, and somebody is as brazen as this guy, he would have been spit out as a suspect in the thefts. If you do this once, with just one high volume item, not so much. Another option I heard being proposed is a second bar code on objects, especially those that are high end. Essentially a serial number for each one that can be barcoded with a sticker.

Zelig just told me that this story has hit the big WABC radio airwaves... it was reported on the noon newscast. Pres. Bush quoted: "If this story is true, then something must have REALLY gone wrong in Claude's life..." (my paraphrase)

He goes and buys merchandise.

He takes the merchandise out to his car.

He returns to the store and grabs identical items and places them in his cart.

He proceeds to the refund and exchange desk with the original receipt for identical items already in his car.

Costco places stickers on returned items as soon as you enter...in order to eliminate this type of larceny.

Wow, what a way to ruin a great career. Gives credence to shop lifting being an addiction, I guess.

Now that this has hit papers etc, I surely hope his family/friends keep an eye on him.. guilt/suicide seem to me something to watch out for.

I am shocked, disappointed & actually feel sorry for the guy.. why?

Exactly. You "spend more time with the family" because you're UNEMPLOYED.
