Retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor showed Thursday that she's not absent from judicial issues. During a speech in Washington, she said Republican leaders' attacks on the courts threaten the constitutional freedoms of Americans.
So now the Supreme Court can't be criticized. I hate judges...
I see where you're coming from with regards to Totenberg, but come on, this is O'Connor we're talking about here. Why would any of these reported statements attributed to her surprise you?
O'Connor will stand along with fellow justice Anthony Kennedy and the 1986 illegal alien amnesty as the biggest mistakes Reagan made as President. To be fair, Kennedy still has a chance to redeem himself, though I don't know why anyone would expect him to.
2 out of 5 is a number that should haunt any conservative, as it is the combined record of Reagan and Bush the Elder in picking good Sup Court justices. We are fortunate that a second chance to right the Court may have finally arrived, though it will require at least one more pick.
What is funny is that judges don't consider themselves part of the government.
I know! And these geniuses are the interpreters of our Constitution. No wonder things are such a mess.
