There are. Now and then the posting guidelines are posted. I don't have them handy, but someone no doubt does.

That is not exactly true (Plato gay), it was a diferent era, with diferent views of the roles of men and women. The short version is: women are intelectually infeior to men, so much so that man could not have a real 'soul mate' with a women only another man. Sex was a diferent issue altogether.

all your zigzagging and insulting me personally (when I had opened a civil debate)Is that supposed to be a joke? Your initial post to me, and my initial reply to you were both civil. Then, unhappy with my reply you started letting the insults fly. Anybody can go up in the thread and see that, so I don't see the point in lying about it. As for your assertion that this forum is filled with people who want to "kill all the arabs", I don't see any of them either. As much as you would like to rely on the race card to cut short the debate, there simply is no justification for it.

"I have heard that also. Just makes me sick to my stomach."
I just think it sounds odd to quote someone just because they lived thousands of years ago and were greek, then it makes great wisdom.
sorta like saying today, "Oh Yeah!! Well Barney Frank said...."

I don't need to feel vindicated for stating my opinion. No, you don't even need to be consistent, realistic, or rational. Bush does, though.

(IF ONLY 10% of Muslims are radical, that's still 120 MILLION who want to kill us.)
To: Solson
We have nukes. We are in a war. The problem is some think the war is against just a few crazy muslim terrorists. If that were true, then there would be a least 10,000 troops from Dubai helping us in Iraq - but there isn't.
Why?
Because the enemy is Islam.
Nuke Tehran and Islam will get the message. If they don't, keep Nuking them till they do. Either way we win and they lose.
Now, if we wait and go with the compassionate kinder gentler war fighting, that has taken us longer to beat a bunch of punks with RPGs than it took us to beat 10 million veteran German and Japanese troops, and thousands of their planes and ships.......
Tagline:
Actually it will be much worse than Nam because the enemy will have Nukes and other WMDs.

since you obviously haven't learned the proper forum etiquette:
Obviously, Howlin', you have some issues with me. There is nowhere that "proper forum ettiqutte" is dictated, near as I can tell, and I searched this site up and down and all around, and I could never find it. So, I would appreciate it if you could *point* me in the direction to find it myself.
Again, you start the whole thing off with another personal attack. I don't understand why you are so nasty to me in particular, or to the others that I have seen you do. You are getting off on it, apparently, and I'm through with you. You did have an ounce of respect in my heart before this post. No longer.

Gee...someone with knowledge of their country. Perhaps you can share that with the bumpkins around here thinking the UAE is just another sand desert with tents and camels, no big cities, no modern conveniences and run by folks who live in nomadic tribes and crap on the floor of their homes.
I'd love to know the percent of people on this thread that have ever engaged in business with a foreign based company. From the looks of it, it cannot be many.

It's really hard to have an honest debate with everyone feeling so defensive because people attack them as you have meBS; I have not ATTACKED you. In fact, it is you who has made false claims about me, which I'm still waiting for an answer on.
People don't put forth what they really want to share for fear of reprisal.
Really? Perhaps I should tell the people who I post with all day long they should be in fear; you're not going to find many hear fearful of me.
Reprisal? The facts?
And I might remind you that YOU start this with your post to me; I made a simple statement about how long I had been posting and observing on this site and you've been making snarky remarks and lecturing me ever since.

I've seen the words 'pull the race card' one too many times around here, JFC.
To use another gambling term, what it really is, is calling a spade a spade. When people on this forum use the term 'raghead' with regularity, and talk about bombing them ALL (including the 'nits'), it IS a problem, and it's dangerous..........no matter how hard some try to turn the accusation around on the one speaking the truth.
If people don't think racism was a factor in some people's opposition to this port deal (which was approved by the U.S. military), then they're in complete denial.

EVERY person on FR who opposes this Dubai deal is also in favor on constructing a bigass wall along the mexican border. It's no surprise. And they wonder why they're able to paint Republican's with the hillbilly brush...."
Pat can't do things like that without help....
Although I would like to note that I am in favor of criminalizing entering the country illegally and building a big ass wall but did not oppose the port deal.

Plato push for homosexuality among troops. http://members.aol.com/matrixwerx/glbthistory/plato.htm Any other philosphers you wanna quote?
And then? Homosexuality far predates us... it didn't change anything about his teachings that remain true to this day. And in the Ancient World, homosexuality was practiced open and freely. Funny, we all still came into being.
Why does being gay automatically discount something, because you don't like it? How does it change the fact that the four virtues of politics are taught and challenged to this day? I'm sorry, but I'm not among the classic conservative homophobe stance. I love too many of them to be as such.

I'm not in favor of illegal immigration EITHER, but there are many, many folks here who ARE in favor of rounding up anyone they SUSPECT as an illegal and shipping em out. Furthermore, there are a HUGE number of people here simply opposed to anyone Mexican or South American period.
It's 1914-1917 immigration policy all over again. woopee.

I don't understand why you are so nasty to me in particular, or to the others that I have seen you do.
Only to people who misstate facts.
As you have done about me.
And I am STILL waiting for the link to my post about bin Laden Construction Company and the UAE.

You know better than this. Or you should. It was establised beyond any doubt that DPW was in management, seven levels removed from any onsite position. The longshoremen that are there now would have, and will be, the same men.Coulda, shoulda. Divesting is the best option. Saves face for Dubai, and brings the rhetoric down a few notches. Immigration is inextricably tied to this. I wrote and called my Representative and Senator regarding this. And regarding immigration. I fall into the "let's do something reasonable about illegal immigration" crowd. No round them all up. No wall. No trade the Green card for Gold card. Yes for document compliance, workplace enforcement, wage/hour/safety enforcement. The only way to plan a viable policy is to get an accurate count of illegal immigrants and register them. I do not pretend to know exactly how the program should work. That is why legislators make the big bucks. I do know that there is a problem, and the Dims are whipping people into an isolationist/nationalist frenzy regarding Mexico.
