A 20-year-old man in Ocoee, Fla., was charged with murder after he confessed to pouring gasoline over his ex-girlfriend and then setting her on fire because she may have been pregnant, police told Local 6 News.
Winter Garden police officers investigating a report of a car fire noticed a small fire on the east side of County Road 545 on Feb. 25.
When officers extinguished the flames, they found the body of Amelia Sookdeo, 17, burned beyond recognition.
Sookdeo was reported missing by her mother earlier the same day after she left her home through a window without her parents' knowledge.
An investigation into the homicide led to Sookdeo's ex-boyfriend, Dane Abdool, 20, who at first denied any involvement in the crime, according to the report.
However, when police confronted him with inconsistencies in his story and presented a set of tire marks from his car photographed at the scene, Abdool confessed to the crime, Local 6 News reported.
"He admitted that he had met his former girlfriend that night, she sneaked out and he picked her up and went to his apartment in Ocoee," Winter Garden Police Chief George Brennan said. "From there they left and had an argument and he took her down County Road 545, forced her out of the car. He poured gasoline on her and ignited it."
Abdool told police that he was arguing with Sookdeo over her possible pregnancy and he was just trying to scare her, Local 6 News reported.
"The medical examiner found no evidence that she was having a baby," Local 6 reporter Mike DeForest said.
Duct tape was found at the scene, along with gloves to which Abdool would have had access to at his work, police said.
Abdool was charged with first-degree murder late Thursday.

The real tyranny is a worldwide domination of public airwaves and broadcast media by the extreme left. More so in Europe than America, but we are getting there. Traditional American "news" outlets have become so partisan that fair elections are not even possible in this country. Bush would have wone the 2004 election by 15 points, had the media had not been doing everything possible to undermine the President and, if John Kerry's history had been covered honestly by the same people.
Since then it has only gotten worse.
The traditional media's practice of selective reporting, providing facts without history or context, reporting statements out of context and, flat out misrepresentations of fact, is a dangerous development. How can anyone envision a republic being held together witout any universal truths to bond us to each other. If for every reality their is an alternate reality, then how will we not end up in violent chaos.
ABC, CBS, NBC, and the multitude of network-news-affiliated cable and radio outlets have become propoganda organs for the Democrat Party. We all know that. We know that the New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe,
and Los Angeles Times are going to do everything in their power to aid liberals and damage conservatives What is so frightening to me is they don't seem to care.
They don't care if they undermine the election process, they don't care if they endanger our troops, they don't care if they aid our enemies, they don't care if they undermine marriage, they don't care if Americans are split along racial lines, They simply don't care If any of these unfortunate outcomes are exacerbated or promoted by their behavior. If it helps get Democrats elected then it is not only an acceptable outcome, it is a desirable outcome. That is truly scary and brings me back to extremism as no vice.
If the traditional media continue down this path we are all in trouble. Radicals and Reactionaries will eventually tear us apart. There will again be assassinations, political assassinations, assassinations of media figures, Attacks on ethnic and religious groups, a kind of low-level internal warfare that could go south in a hurry.
Pissed-off people do crazy things. They blow up federal buildings in Oklahoma City, they send mail bombs to people while hiding in a shack in Montana. They shoot presidents, they burn buildings, people on the fringe will do anything you can imagine to right a perceived wrong. Right now I'm pissed-off.... but I am stable. A lot of people are not stable.
I'm tired of the lying media and the damage they are doing to our country. All i want from them is the truth....all of the truth. If they continue to deny Americans this basic American principle then they deserve every negative manifestation of their behavior. That is too bad because the rest of us don't.

That this one happens to "look middle eastern" doesn't make all people of that ethnicity guilty by association! I don't think that line of (un)reasoning is up to the standards of good conservatives. Anger can obviously cloud logic at times but the danger in that is apparent.
It's clear - to a pious Muslim, a women's worth is solely as a sex object and broodmare...
