Bump! I would love to see the replies to this thread.
Anyone know what the Hunt's are up to these days????????
As a general investing rule I avoid buying something that is at a 22 year high. This is especially true when talking about commodities like silver that have no possibility of growth, an ounce of silver will always be an ounce of silver.
The miners were appropriately enthusiastic today. SLW continues onward and upward.
(Fine print:All silver sales have a 10% commission)

Cool just got my 2006 First Strike MS-69 Silver Eagles.
Wake me when it gets to $45-$50 per ounce again.
I took a gamble in stocks. Lots of shares at .10. PTSC You might want to do some DD!
i bought some silver a few years ago and then sold it all when it hit 6.50 an ounce cause ithought it couldt go much higher aaaarrrrgggghhhh (in my past life i probably bought an brand new edsel lol)
My silver holdings and I are VERY happy today! :) One step closer to retiring at age 55. I've been trading commodities for decades with my Dad. It's our "Dad & Daughter Hobby" right after killin' & grillin' things, LOL!
We haven't lost dime-one on silver in over 5 years now. It's been generating, on average, $80 a day for us. Sorry some of the rest of you didn't get in on this one. It's been a fun and relatively painless ride. :)
Now, I'll just sit back and wait for someone with no silver holdings to come by and tell me how stupid I am, LOL!
Announced Silver ETF goosed the POS today.
NEW YORK, March 21 (Reuters) - U.S. benchmark silver futures shot to a 22-year high on speculative buying on Tuesday after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved rule changes for a silver exchange-traded fund. Silver for May delivery at the COMEX division of the New York Mercantile Exchange had surged $10.55 an ounce, up 16.8 cents -- the priciest for futures since late 1983 -- by 12:13 p.m. EST. The SEC said it has approved rule changes that will allow the American Stock Exchange to list shares in Barclays Plc's (BARC.L: Quote, Profile, Research) iShares Silver Trust, which is designed to track the price of the metal.
Four weeks later, silver hits $11/oz.
Meanwhile, back in the USA
STOCKS ARE SOARING . . .the Russell 2000, alrready at an all-time high to start the day, is up HUGE, and the NASDAQ and other major indicies are having a gangbusters day.
I don't know what that headline is about. All the silver stocks I watch did well today, as far as I know. SSRI, PAAS, SLW, ABMBF, ASGMF, CDE, ECUSXF, EDRGF, GPRLF, MGN, QURAF, all of them were ahead today, and all of them have done very well over the past year.
