The prospect of further rises in interest rates in the eurozone unnerved both equity and bond markets on Thursday.
...
The price of silver rose to a fresh 22-year high above $10 an ounce amid expectations that a silver exchange-traded fund would soon receive US regulatory approval.
To your check book/ buy silver. :)
Silver hanging around $12.80 now. We might see a sell off if the ETF fails to go through, but I don't see it ever going below 10 again.
Do you know when there will be the vote on this? From what I heard, no anytime soon??
*not
Did you see Chicago silver today/and now London/ just sky rocketing!!
Just cked Asian market; silver trying to push into $12.90 area. Absolutely amazing!
Yep, it's wild.
I got some options at early Feb for $9.40/ounce
Will pick it up later this week, and could turn around and sell it back to them on the spot and make more than 30%.
Even if silver only went to the historical average of 15 to 1 with gold, we're talking forty dollars an ounce.
And I think ultimately, we're talking alot higher than that.
Isn't it nice/lol.
We might see a sell off if the ETF fails to go through
That's not what happened. Under Bretton Woods, the US would exchange dollars for gold at the official and fixed rate of $35. Only countries in the system could make the exchange. In 1971 France threatened to convert all its dollars and we couldn't do it, because of inflation. Nixon closed the gold window, and that was the end of that.
Express elevator, going up!
Sorry. Not sure. I heard late last week that the listing would start soon, I assume that means they have it in place, they need that before there can be any trading.
Keep an eye on Gold-Eagle.com
They have alot of resources there.

Alot of folks are saying that the entire short exposure on silver exceeds the known world above ground supply.
Here, I have this silver dime. Do you mind if I fill up my gas tank for it?
Remember, for most of the history of man, a days wages were equivalent to about one silver quarter.
Currently, at 2:14 AM PST, showing 12.919 on FOREX.
And actually, I heard that recent weakness in the dollar is resulting from the foreign contingent realizing that soon the interest rate hikes will end.
They can't keep pumping the interest rates, if they do, the housing sector will collapse.
Commodities are finally coming into their own.
djf, excellent synopsis /silver quarter, ty
[Centurion, you mentioned in an earlier post that you'd dump at $11.00. Hope you didn't yet.]
