Just think of what a refreshing change we could all enjoy if this pontificating POS would -- just once --keep his mouth shut -- and just try to act presidential.

Well, chalk it up to very late night idle wish.

Nebba hoppen.

Well now certainly you have to give him credence since he nearly died and saw Hell and is now a man of New Beginnings. (I'll let the Lord sort the rest out)

This coming from a guy who thinks only at zipper-level.

Yo' Bill, I've got a secret to let you in on: Even your fans now realize all you really ever had to give them was charm. I know you want to be the next Jimmy Carter, but isn't there some housing you could nail together, or a dictator you can hug?

What on *earth* do you have to do to make a former president of the USA quit seeking the limelite and retire into anonymity?

Most recently sighted beggaring around New Zealand on the fundraising speaking circuit opining on things of little interest to us.

Why does anybody care what Bill Clinton thinks anyrate? Hasn't he done enough damage already?

Bill Clinton's tact runs at an extremely low level.

Did Ronald Reagan or George Bush ever make a habit of critiquing Clinton's policies while he was in office? Or did they let the elected President perform his job?

It's like them calling up Michael Isner about what Robert Iger is doing.

To bad there wasn't this level of concern when Carter gave away the most strategic waterway in this side of the planet...the Panama Canal.

Or when Clinton, while he occupied the White House permitted the Chinese to operate several key ports.

But of course this is all Bush's fault.

"Therefore, the American people have wisely established a custom against allowing any man to hold that office for more than two consecutive terms. But every shred of power which a President exercises while in office vanishes absolutely when he has once left office. An ex-President stands precisely in the position of any other private citizen, and has not one particle more power to secure a nomination or election than if he had never held office at all, indeed, he probably has less because of the very fact that he has held the office." - Theodore Roosevelt

To be fair, George Bush did give his opinion on the Monica situation and Ronald just could not possibly speak about it for obvious reasons.

> But every shred of power which a President exercises while in office vanishes absolutely when he has once left office.

Behold the difference between Power and Influence. Of the two, Influence is the more dangerous.

"Absolute power corrupts absolutely", as Lord Acton once postulated, but Absolute Influence causes others to do one's Dirty Work without getting one's hands dirty...

Clinton-at-large is an infinitely larger threat to conservative values than Clinton-in-office ever was or ever could have been. At least while he was President he was accountable to somebody.

Compulsory retirement-into-obscurity for ex-Presidents should become another wise American custom. Come to think of it, the same should apply to ex-NZ Prime Ministers!

Clinton is so dishonest it makes my head hurt. CFIUS acted exactly the way they acted when Clinton was president.
