Minuteman says border deserves sway over ports
THE WASHINGTON TIMES ^ | February 26, 2006 | Jerry Seper

The president of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps has accused Congress of "grandstanding" on the issue of security at U.S. ports, saying that for decades it has allowed "free passage" of drugs, illegal aliens and criminal cartels across the U.S.-Mexico border. "I have watched in disgust as grandstanding politicians who have for decades allowed international criminal cartels free passage of drugs, weapons and human chattel across our borders now rush to the microphones in the name of national security to decry government contracts with an Arab-owned and Mideast-based corporation to operationally manage several U.S. shipping ports," said MCDC President Chris Simcox. His reaction comes amid intense criticism from Democrats and Republicans about the Bush administration's approval of a United Arab Emirates company, Dubai Ports World, to take over operations at some U.S. seaports. "Many of these politicians noisily vowing to do everything in their power to stop Dubai Ports World from managing the operations at six of our shipping ports have repeatedly refused to do anything in their power to secure our borders," Mr. Simcox said. The former Tombstone, Ariz., newspaper publisher who headed efforts by the Minuteman Project to patrol the border in Arizona in April and from Texas to California in October, said international drug cartels, shielded by the Mexican military, ship thousands of tons of drugs across the border with impunity every year. "These criminal gangs also traffic massive inventories of contraband in weapons, stolen cars and, most outrageously, human beings," he said. "Yet there is no rush to the television news cameras by Senators Schumer, Menendez and Hillary Clinton -- much less by Senate Majority Leader Frist or House Speaker Hastert -- demanding our borders immediately be secured." His comments were aimed at Democratic New York Sens. Charles E. Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton

It appears reasonable to me that since security is lacking at some points, that we shouldnt bother with security at any points, go figure.

The CFIUS Process And The DP World Transaction

Have you seen this?

"The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Is Always In Charge Of The Nation's Port Security, Not The Private Company That Operates Facilities Within The Ports. Nothing will change with this transaction. DHS, along with the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and other Federal agencies, sets the standards for port security and ensures that all port facility owners and operators comply with these standards."

I realize that we cannot trust our government, especially this administration, but it's worth the look to see the propaganda they put out.

They all believe in the theory that more economic and cultural interactions with tacit government approval of giving more power to international courts and Gov (UN) will improve the world by preventing Nations from fighting wars..the theory common at the Schools they were all educated in (BUSH as well) is to limit the power of all Nation states ..so we have policy of: Open borders, free trade (with no regard to the American workers), Nafta - the support of American Co's moving jobs over seas with Tax payers money support no less, the granting of business loans to foreign nationals at better terms than American citizens can obtain-thats why black Americans have Asians running business in the inner cities-The placing of the UN as the ultimate arbiter of our own laws and military
ALL based on the silly notion that a world with weakened Nation states with citizens no longer strong nationalists will make the threat of Nuke war much less likely.
The ivy league fools will lead the world to dictatorships and the worse kind of war - the terrorist wars of NON Nation States - where no regard for mutual destruction will limit the use of WMD. They are selling America out for an socialist dream of citizens of the world living in a Utopian peaceful world run by the elite bureaucrats of some UN like world Government. When you understand the goal - all the seeming poor decisions by BUSH and our two political parties on so many issues, including the Open Border, begins to make sense.

87 plus percent of the American people as reflected in poll after poll after poll, on both sides of the political isle want the border with Mexico closed; What is it about this desire that you so called conservative leaders do not understand. The American people could care less about big business rants over there alleged need for cheap labor, nor do they care to hear that Mexicans do jobs that Americans won't do. There much more concerned about the fact that we're spending billions of dollars in wars over seas fighting enemy's that want to kill us, while you leave the damn back door is standing wide open.

A closed border will:
1.) Stem the flow of narcotics coming in from the southern hemisphere. (can you say "drug war"?)
2.) It will stop illegals from entering therefor stem the growth of our welfare system. (which by the way, is on the Verge of bankrupting many hospitals).
3.) It will decrease the opportunity for American hating terrorist to enter our country with the intent of killing innocent Americans. (should be a no brainer)
4.) It will send a clear message to the rest of the world that America is a nation of laws and this includes laws governing entering United States Territory.
Now, would somebody please explain to me what is so difficult to comprehend about that? This is the sort of logic the school system use to teach 2ND graders prior to education system being hi-jacked by the NEA.

Build a wall now, that way when we catch those coming in illegally, we can deport them easily.....drop them off at the border, and shut the gate. No trials, no holding cells, no lawyers.
