UAE Critical Strategic Located Ally for U.S military efforts in Afganistan and Iraq (Vanity)

Posted on 02/24/2006 3:57:44 AM PST by johnmecainrino

Bush's best argument would be to stress how important a strategic ally UAE is in the war on terror.

Our war ships dock at dubai port more than any other port in the region.

We have overflight rights from our carriers to afganistan or iraq.

Our fighter jets refuel in Dubai from iraq or afganistan war theaters to the carriers.

70,000 of our troops that have come from the iraq or afganistan war theater have gotten R@R in dubai which is a world class city.

UAE lets us use airbases there.

They were the first country to let us inspect cargo there.

John Warner and General Pace have stressed how important they are in the war on terror.

Bush has to look out for our troops in the war theater as commander and chief.

These congresscritters that are taking on Bush have no clue what a strategic ally they are. Just look at a map how they are situated compared to iraq, iran, and afganistan. Look at the gulf.

UAE has been critical in the strategic logistics in afganistan as a partner in the effort there and has been increasingly helpful in iraq.

Remember Turkey left us out in the cold and thanks to the UAE they stepped up to the plate.

They have turned over top level al queda, cooperated on stopping terrorist funding.

We have a navy officer in the control tower working with them.

That is why these congresscritters have some nerve taking on the commander and chief in war time when they don't have a clue how strategic an ally they are.

When I see Bill Frist or barbara boxer lecturing the commander and chief about national security it is pathetic.

Senator Warner is the only senator and he would know as the chairman of the armed services committee that has raised these issues.

We also have 1,500 troops permanently based there for the war efforts. If you look at a map it is scary how important an ally they are.

DU, dem senators, or media doesn't have to worry about that like Bush.

Most dims don't know where Dubai is, much less how strategic it is to our security!

It's worth linking in Tony Snow's latest on this issue.

Think 'Strait of Hormuz'. A discussion of this developed on the following post:

Do a search there for 'arthurus' and follow his posts.

Rather interesting.
