"I strongly believe that the federal government should enforce our borders. I support "Operation Hold the Line" which has been an effective program in El Paso. The enforcement of Texas' borders is a federal responsibility, and the federal government has not done it's job. This is disturbing because, like you, I am against illegal immigration."

Man, what I'd give to have that printed on a roll of toilet paper and mail it to the White House!!

This is why we the people have to make Bush a lame duck on this issue. IOW, I don't care what Bush wants, the pubs are going to do some pandering on the border issue this year, and I want it signed in BLOOD!

He didn't have to contend with the NGOs back in 1995. Thank Clinton for the gift that keeps on giving.

Immigrants

Center for Immigration Studies
The Center for Immigration Studies is a non-partisan, non-profit organization founded in 1985. It is the nation's only think tank devoted exclusively to research and policy analysis of the economic, social, demographic, fiscal, and other impacts of immigration on the United States.
http://www.cis.org/

National Immigration Forum
The purpose of the National Immigration Forum is to embrace and uphold America's tradition as a nation of immigrants. The Forum advocates and builds public support for public policies that welcome immigrants and refugees and that are fair and supportive to newcomers in our country.
http://www.immigrationforum.org/

National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights
NNIRR member organizations and activists utilize the network as a tool to enhance collaboration, build and develop strategy, and push thinking and analysis "outside the box" of service provision or "quick-fix" legislation. The program aims to involve, support, and empower immigrant communities to address the critical issues in their neighborhoods and workplaces.

Make Employers Check Work Eligibility

You can now pressure your local employers to check the eligibility of prospective employees.

Social Security numbers can now be verified by using the following toll free number: 1-800-772-6270. Up to 5 names can be verified over the phone and up to 50 by faxing a inquiry to your local Social Security office. It is all explained in a publication put out by Social Security- " Employer Reporting Instructions & Information. "

Our Native American friends in Minnesota are always gripping about the Somalis, saying their growing population is sucking up all the welfare services. Guess it must be true.

If the burden of the National Guard is too heavy, we can ask our governors to loan the Nation's 15,000 State defense forces to help. We can call up the Coast Guard Auxiliary and the U.S. Air Force Civil Air Patrol.

CAP ping. The Civil Air Patrol ran air patrols along the Southwestern border during WWII, and if so tasked again, can handle it as well as it did the forest fire-spotting missions and coastal antisubmarine ops of the same period.
