"Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice, moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue"
Barry Goldwater, one of the last few GREAT REPUBLICANS, 1964
What is extremism? Is it something that is, de facto, undesirable and evil?
We need to start asking some serious questions. And IMHO, we might now be faced with abandoning the illustrious ideals of inclusion, diversity, KumBayAhism, and all the other teen age dreams of college freshmen everywhere.
We now openly have a cultural foe that has declared, in no uncertain terms, they want do at least displace us, if not totally destroy us.
The Islamic cultures.
I have always heard that one of the twelve steps in any of the help yourself type programs is to admit you have a problem. I have heard "religion of peace" and "moderate arabs" and all the other ballderdash until it is coming out of my ears, and frankly, I'm sick of it. I fully suspect that 99% of those "moderate arabs" will say things in private that you will not hear them say in public.
Do we have the stones to admit finally that this is not a "war on terror"? Do we have the nerve to call it what it truly is? Are we at least willing to see that they have in no uncertain terms, unashamedly and unabashedly declared that their intent is to convert us or KILL US?
Goldwater is right. And if our policies of letting anybody cross our borders who wants to have failed, or about to, then we need to be at least honest and admit it and try to correct it.
Especially is those who some here come armed with ideals and goals that are centered on our defeat.
Sorry, I just had to rant.
We have time. We still have time to ask the hard questions.
If we refuse to at least ask the questions, we WILL run out of time.
Then, it will be too late.
Well, I can't help but wonder if we were to, God forbid, lose a city, would people then come to FR and all gleefully try to joke "It's Bushes fault"?
I'm not saying that it would be or wouldn't, just asking about the dynamics here.
Ping for later!
