Where would the taliban and OBL be today in Afghanistan if 9/11 had not occured. This is a turning point for Islam. Had they waited just ten more years before attacking America's homeland no telling how this would have worked out. By 2011 Iran would have the bomb and would have been a great aly of the Taliban.
I think that is why God allowed it. I know many are quite miffed at him for "sleeping" on that day, but bigger things are definitely afoot in the heavenly realm (i.e. "as high as the heavens are above the earth, so are my ways above your ways").
You're absolutely right there. Which is why it concerns me a great deal that the epicenter of islamic evil, Saudi Arabia, is still spewing its filth across the globe, undermining us here at home, and indoctrinating the next generation of jihadis.
Their demographics alone is seriously worrying and I have my doubts as how Al Saud can keep that nation together and implement any necessary reforms at the same time. It's not a country we can afford to overlook.
If the Saudis themselves decide to acquire nukes while we are preoccupied elsewhere, its going to make the problem in Iran look insignificant. The wahhabi/Saud alliance possess something the Iranians and Taliban do not.. the legitimization of their message, as they are the custodians of the "holy sites" of the Hijaz.
