I don't believe these guys are real smart, nor do I think lawyers are advising them. They feel invincible and they believe (correctly) that we are on the defensive, PC-wise and that we will tolerate just about anything because we are not allowed to say or do anything that would be interpreted as being critical of Islam. Just like all our politicians keep referring to Islam as a 'religion of peace' when it's the most intolerant murderous religion on the planet.
These people need to have a bunch of ex-Marines wade into them. And if it happens, the police badly need to make sure they are unable to identify any of OUR guys.
At the outbreak of the Iran-Iraq war, back about '79, a bunch of Iranian "students" in D.C. protested and a few active duty marines waded into them.
The Washington Times had color photos above the fold on the front page.
